Wish I was down there as can’t get anyone to put a transmission in my 96 f150 . So this old retired guy will be putting in a transmission on a dirt driveway and pray it doesn’t snow . Getting too old for this crap.

When serviced correctly and not modifying the engine where it produces more that 360 foot pounds of torque at the crank, yes.

I have the same tranny 4l60e, but the 97 1500 truck version. I have the same forward sun gear stuck with damaged gears. I can't believe there is not a tool to remove damaged and locked gears like this. this is my first auto trans rebuild, although I have done other major auto rebuilds. If you run into another such repair with this type of damage, please do a video on getting this area apart.

I've got a '94 suburban with a 4l60e 172,000 miles. but it's shifting pretty hard in all the gears. guess its time for a rebuild

Regarding the silicone on the pump surface. Have you ever tried using a case half sealer like they do on motorcycle cases, etc?
@richardteresacricheducatio35429 ай бұрын
No sir I have not. I did not know how it would react with transmission fluid.
@striker15539 ай бұрын
@@richardteresacricheducatio3542my guess would be that it's ok. It withstands gasoline, all kinds of oils too. Cleans off easily with brake kleen if necessary.

Would a 4l60 live behind a stockist 6.2L? Just a cam. Or would it cost 5 grand in bullet parts to make it live?
@shadowopsairman158310 ай бұрын
The 4L60E handles up to 360 foot pounds of torque at the crank.

I have a 94 silverado 5.7. How can I tell if I have a 700r4 or 4l60? Without dropping the trans. Everyone keeps telling me 4l60e but I bought a 2000s model and it didn't fit.cause the transfer case is different. Idk if I answered my own question there but I would appreciate the help

@@kurtisstutzman70561993 might have been the last year of the 700R4. Both are very similar however.
