I think they could be saying 'half' referring to cultural upbringing and/or nationality. But by nationality, they're all fully American or Australian. By blood ethnicity, none of them, including Danielle and Lily, are Australian or American by as none of are indigenous. Edit: I'm not saying you have to be aboriginal to be Australian. I'm saying anyone who is an Australian citizen is Australian regardless of race and Australian is not a race.

@@namos3369... Yes, that's what I'm saying, I guess my comment wasn't clear enough. They are all just as Australian as each other by nationality. I myself am 100% Australian by nationality and I am not an aboriginal. However, I see a lot of people make the distinction that Danielle and Lily are "actually Australian" or "half Australian" because they are half white, whereas yunjin, Rose and Hanni are actually "just 'Vietnamese/Korean'​ who lived in Australia/America" (just like this OG comment above). This is because they are making a racial distinction, implying that they have to be a certain race to be Australian. Lily and Danielle aren't any more Australian than Hanni because they are more white, Australian is not a race/ethnicity. The point I was making is that IF Australian was a race, it would be aboriginal/Australasian, not white/european.

A lot of international schools' students in the world have American-ish accent..myself included. Idk why..

@@laramiaizz i’ve heard it described as a “blank” accent because it doesn’t really have a specific twang to it. For example a lot of Americans have a “southeast” or “midwest” accent, due to having grown up in those areas and around people with those accents, but learning / hearing english from so many different people of different backgrounds in an international school will influence the way that you speak the language. Kind of like how the non- aussie members of newjeans pick up on the accents of the aussie members when they speak English. Learning english from so many different people will give you a very clear sound, with an accent that doesn’t really fit one specific area. Hence the “blank” part. Isn’t language neat? It’s so interesting how the way we sound and communicate can be influenced by those around us. 🫶

In our india,we have international schools but English is compulsory to teach in every school. So most indian students know english

@@laramiaizzmy experience of hearing many people from these schools is that some sound super British, some sound super American. The rest sound kind of American but with other twangs of things here and there. That means that they speak English naturally, with all the slang and stuff that native speakers do, but if you concentrate you can tell they’re from an international school or military/diplomatic family.

Kai her brother said they grew up in China and later in Korea their entire life’s never in the US. They know a bit of English but aren’t fluent in it compared to their first language Korean.

bahiyyah 'sorry for her spelling' is Australian.... I'm not confirmed but she is not Korean as it already proves because her siblings are also in kpop and both knows English very well...she lived in Korea that's why she has some grammatical mistakes but by the time it will improve

I can't stressed enough about this cause fans keep claiming their idols knows 6 languages and more than half of them are basic hi bye sentences and on concerts idols tend to learn some sentences of the specific region but that's the extent of their knowledge on that language they're far from native or fluent
