I thought it’d be fun to go over some of the many features on the c5 corvette. I really enjoyed making this video and have many more to come. If you see this I hope you have a great day!!

Yes, and another little hidden feature about the C5 Corvette is the odometer mileage is stored in the actual gauge cluster, not the ECM or BCM like the C4...so the ONLY way for the gauge cluster to show the mileage of the car it's installed into, is to be reprogrammed at the dealership. The problem with that is most dealerships no longer have the software to do any programming on the C5 Corvette. I know this because I recently went to Rick Hendrick Chevrolet to have them program the transmission in my '04 C5 base model with an auto trans. because of swapping the rear differential to a different gear ratio; 2.73 to 3.15. They could not do it any more. Rick Hendrick is a HUGE chain of dealerships. My only option was to have the car tuned on "HP Tuners" which included an engine tune, so it worked out okay. This is a reason why if anyone buys a C5 Vette they really should get a CARFAX report. I've seen a few C5's for sale that the mileage seemed "too good to be true". Just for an example and in closing, before buying the C5 I cruise around in now, I looked at a '04 Z06 with a supercharged engine and supposedly only 42k miles. After closer inspection, the car had "241" casting cylinder heads. Z06's have "243" heads; first red flag. Second was the CARFAX showed 10 previous owners and only 42k miles? Something didn't add up on the CARFAX; I walked away. I'm glad I did because they were asking $32k for a car with questionable history. I found the C5 base I enjoy with actual mileage at 97k and asking price at $15k. A CARFAX that showed 3 previous owners and a steady unbroken increase in mileage from new. "Show me the CARFAX, lol!"

@@mlc7boosted wow I didn’t know that that’s very interesting, and I’m glad you know what to look for to not get scammed. What color is your ‘04

@@Bmstaudy It's kind of cheezy, but good cheezy. Torch red exterior with red sport seats, red trim and red carpet. Chrome Z06 wheels. Came with the smoked glass and red color matched targa tops which was nice. The smoked glass top is in a storage bag in my closet; it's too hot for a Georgia summer. Actually somewhat a "rare" color combo. Try to find another one, I've seen three in 2 years for sale online. I'm sure there are lots out there but I haven't seen them when I've looked. Most have black, grey or tan interior. Cam, headers, intake, exhaust, HP tune. 412 hp. Kind of a "Gran Turismo tourer. But it will outrun a Scat pack, STI, 370Z Nismo. Just random kills so far. It's my DD and it has 128k miles now after over 2 years of ownership. Thanks for the love and you can search "C5 Corvette mileage stored in gauge cluster". Lots of forum posts about it and some guys hinting on changing out the cluster for a "low mileage" cluster.
