Cedar shoe trees are quite inexpensive. If you can afford expensive shoes, you can afford shoe trees for all of them. Also, go for cedar hangers too. They’ll keep pests away and will make your closet smell really nice.

Be careful with cheap wood hangers as I hand washed a white shirt and hung it to dry only to find out that the hanger stained my shirt. If hanging a wet shirt, use a plastic hanger and transfer to a wood hanger only when dry. I may get some spray varnish to seal the stain in my hangers. #6 a hat brush (you can make due with a clothes brush but a hat brush is curved for the brim) #7 a good case to keep cufflinks from scratching each other.

I use a fabric brush that has a black padding on opposite side that does the same as a lint roller with out sticky material, therefore, doesn't run out. It also has a built in shoe horn. As far as steamers; I have an upright home steamer along with a Whirlpool Fabric freshner that quickly assembles and is enclosed that can steam multiple shirts and pants @ same time. Steamer does same thing as LG Styler. The one advantage is that since it collapses, you can take it along on trips when staying @ Hotels.

Wide shoulder unvarnished cedar hangers are readily available and are the best for maintaining the shoulder shape of jackets. Be sure to get the unvarnished hangers; although the varnished ones may look nicer, the varnish defeats the advantages of using cedar

On Ebay you can find cedar shoe trees for around 17 euro a pair, so I got around 30 pairs of them....they might come from China but who cares, it´s just 2 pieces of wood in a foot shape, no need to pay a lot for them :-)......a couple of plastic shoe trees just for travelling are great as well, they weigh like nothing, where the wooden ones quickly bump up the weight and space of your luggage.

@edf2953

Very informative and useful video. Many great ideas. I am a big fan of “He Spoke Style”, thus, please take the following comment in the spirit of constructive criticism. I’m glad to see that you are now using shoe trees, however; I do not agree with your recommendation to use shoe trees for 24 hours and then insert the shoe tree into another pair of shoes. I believe that shoe trees should be kept in the shoes whenever a pair of shoes are not being worn. This will help maintain the shape of the shoes. It shouldn’t be that big of an investment to purchase a pair of quality cedar shoe trees for every pair of shoes in one’s wardrobe. Woodlore, a Wisconsin, U.S. based subsidiary of Allen Edmonds frequently has shoe trees on sale and available for $20 to $25 a pair. Just an FYI and one person’s opinion.
