I like how you described the whole “small is big” thing. I think confidence carries out whatever you wear, especially subtle small watches, like that tank. It draws attention without trying draw it. Confidence.

I just got in a Vostok Amphian Scuba Dude #710634, absolutely love it! As crude as it is in comparison to others, it just puts a smile on my face every time I look down at my wrist! It is truly about what appeals to you and not what others think!!! Keep up the great work my friend! Brian.

Totally agree with you about 'small is big'. It's so common these days to see blokes wearing watches that are far too big, many of them so massive they look ridiculous. The thing about the Tank is that it looks great no matter how big or how small your wrist is - which speaks volumes about the styling and choice of materials. But that really goes for Cartier as a whole: what's that old saying - no Cartier too small? I wear a 30mm Cartier regularly. It's not a tank, but round with yoke type lugs, which is great, because you can swap straps by just unscrewing the retainer. And I've got largish wrists too (21cm) but it still looks brilliant.

The smallest case size in my collection is the 37mm SNK809. I was worried it may be a little to small for my 7 1/4" wrist, but as it turned out, it wears very well and it makes a great field/work watch. I'm now considering a vintage "Connie" or a JLC Reverso.

Finished one week with my 2015 White Dial Tag Heuer Formula One Calibre 5. Fell back in love with it. Nice proportions and extreme care in the details - can't find any cheapness or shortcuts. Earlier though they replaced the movement on warranty but has been perfect since. Dug into why some hate TH. During the 90's my F1 began life as a plastic horror overpriced. Over its evolution, they stuck an oversized bezel on it - I guess as a homage to Invicta? My model is the result of the current CEO who has been trying to clean up the brand and restore it to the original standing of the original Heuer company. The print on my Dial as well as lume is crisp and precise - even on the date number Dial. The few color accents in red are subtle and tastefully designed. The bezel is now same diameter as the case and has numbers etched as opposed to a printed insert. For what it is, it's one of my favorites. Will dig out my blue DateJust for this next week. I agree with video - small rules!!!

I have a 30 mm Girard Perragaux Sea Hawk I wear it at least 4 times a month. No one has commented on my 50 fathoms, my Rolex Batman , or my Datejust, however 3 women came up to ask me about my little GP. It's an old beautiful watch, I will say you do need a good strap for small watches. It has to be a classic leather with a pin buckle because you do see much more of the strap.

I don't have enough money, not even close, to buy a cartier tank, but I really love the aesthetic of it. I see a lot of articles saying that the seiko SUP880 is a good alternative, but it looks so big for me. I saw this Casio watch Casio LTP-V007L-9B, but the thing is it's for women. Im really close to buying it because in my opinion it looks really good. I've been searching about men wearing women's watches, and I discovered that a lot of vintage watches are really small compared to today's standards. I just like to ask if it's really to small.

I've actually been wearing one watch for at least 1 week.. well, sort of. Been actually Schwartzkoffing with 2 watches, one on each wrist, since at least last November 2018. A recent serviced vintage 1974 Rolex Oyster Precision 6426 has actually occupied my wrist for the better part of 2.5 almost 3 months straight. While, on one of the other wrist, I've been sporting other watches also often at least 1 week straight. The reason being, I've been doing a lot of time accuracy tracking. 1, I want to see how the Rolex holds up and settles in after service. 2, I have had some new watches come in and out and while I've had them, I find wearing them for at least 1 weeks continuously is a bare minimum requirement to judge the watch's performance. I find even 2-3 weeks straight of continuous wear and usage is better because after about 2-3 weeks I usually find the watch can suddenly shift out of what seems to be normal operation and the consistency can change after that point.. for better or worst. Anyways, I agree, people need to get over the hump of a watch being too small is going to look not good on the wrist. It's certainly better than too big. At least you can go with the excuse that's what classically proportioned watches have always been and should look like on any wrist size. Can't really say the same for modern oversized watches. This week, I'm still continuing to wear and observe my recently updated SKX mod..it's been at least 3 weeks straight to date. Will continue through this upcoming holiday weekend at least. On the other wrist, I am also continuing to wear and observe a recent microbrand watch purchase.. a Vertigo Pilot One Reverse Panda mechanical chronograph. It had been holding surprisingly consistently well for about the past 3 weeks straight with a gain of +7to +8 secs per day on average. BUT, as mentioned, after about the 2 weeks mark or so, most recently the gain has gone up almost double to about +10 to +15 secs per day. Not sure why. I did notice a high level of magnetism to the watch when testing against a compass recently. Had it demagnetized and it did seem to help out a bit. but still, it does not seem to be consistently holding +6to+7 secs per day as it did in the initial 2+ weeks of continuous usage. FYI, I have also been wearing other watches in my collection for at least 1 week straight. Mostly to reacquaint me with each watch's performance. But, also to try and develop a better feel for whether they are watches which are keepers or likely to be flipped for something else which may hold residence in my watch collection.

The only dressy watch in my collection is a Visodate, but it's dark anthracite dial, so it's more an elegant watch then dress. Well anyways, I'm thinking about a dress watch. My options are Seiko SARB065, Certina Caimano Powermatic 80, Orient Star Classic and maybe a Day Date 40 replica. The Certina is elegant, very small and thin, but was watching videos about the Cocktail Time and it looks almost hypnotic. It may be a bigger, quite thick watch, but almost everything is just perfect.

Two teenagers, Fred and Joe, meet after up school. Fred excitedly blurts out: “Man I was at the most awesome party this weekend! We went to this dude’s house and guy had toilets made of pure gold!” “No way!”doubts Joe “Yes way,” insists Fred, “come with me and check it out for yourself if you don’t believe me.” Twenty minutes later they’re ringing the doorbell at the house from the party the night before. A middle-aged lady opens and Fred eagerly asks her, “Hi! I’m sorry to bother you but there was a party at your house yesterday and my friend doesn’t believe that you have toilet bowls of pure gold!” The lady looks at him for a moment and then yells into the house, “Roger, that drunk asshole who took a shit in your trombone is here!”

You know I love your Cartier Tank. I have a dilemma right now. I am in the process of trading in a couple of Cartier watches to buy a Rolex. I am torn between a 26mm and 31mm Datejust stainless steel, fluted wg bezel, black/Roman dial, Jubilee bracelet. I’m 5’2 with a 6 in. wrist. My issue is that although the 26mm is probably going to be more comfortable, I am worried that I’ll be out of style with my small watch. The 31mm is significantly more expensive, but it is easier to read than the 26mm. If only skinny jeans would go out of style and smaller watches would come back in... What is your opinion about watch size on short armed women?

that watch makes you look like shaquille o'neal !!!! do you have 10" wrist? or is that watch too small? I just can not imagine you wearing it with a short. what about a bathing suit? sorry, can't do. it has a leather strap. ha ha ha. all my watches that I had bought over 15 years ago, I have lost all that collection to my wife. By the way, you are absolutely right. Nothing wrong with wearing small watches as long as you like them. for me, I am sticking with my 40mm watches until the trend goes down to 34 like 20 years ago, ha ha ha. thanks a lot for your interesting review. You do have such a wonderfully cheerful personality that you make everything fun and watchable. Have a great day, Jory.
