My body definitely does NOT want carbs. I'm all for intuitive eating, but high amounts of carbs give me chest and joint pain, so I have to be conscious of my intake, and pair it with healthy fats and veggies when I do consume them.

She didn’t say your body wants a high amount of carbs though.. isn’t the whole point of intuitive eating to listen to your body? Which is what both you and she are saying?

@@natashad8618 Being intuitive is the opposite of being calculating, and I have to be calculating when it comes to carbs because my body doesn't process it like it should. I can't just be like "I'm in the mood for carbs. So a little more won't hurt". Because it literally does.

Maybe just try small portions of it and Instead of things like pasta and bread try rice and potatoes

@@CmCm-uz8gu Rice and potatoes are definitely easier for me, but still have an affect. My body just doesn't agree with the "get the majority of your calories from carbs" lifestyle. Unless we're talking like veggies. I just respond the best to veggies, protein, and fat. I even respond better to dairy than I do carbs. But I'm not keto. I just try to be gluten free. It's just a matter of everyone's body being different.

I've counted calories to lose weight. But never really restricted anything lmao. Just some portion sizes here and there to stay on track. I'm trying to see what my caloric need is right now, to see if I can just go full intuitive at this point. But my goal is just to stop tracking and counting and keep my weight off lmao.

Studies also show that obese people have increased risk for all cause mortality. While we should definitely encourage others to work on repairing their relationship with food we have to be careful on giving people a free pass to consume whatever they want all the time. Hunger hormones like ghrelin send fake signals to your brain that will have you intuitively eat cake when you really may just be thirsty. I come from a place of compassion with binge eating myself. Eat whole unprocessed foods for the majority of your calories and realize when your body is craving junk. It’s okay to eat something for recreation and not solely satiety or nutritional benefits every once in awhile, but let’s not conflate this with nourishing our bodies.

diets 100% work, it's just different for literally everyone. The thing with "diets not working" has to do with mental strength and commitment
