Well done - it’s so much easier to push in a race, and setting a pb in a training run is hard work. It will be fascinating to see where your pb is in a year from now.

The aim is to remain injury free and as you say, in a year’s time I will definitely have progressed much further. I also want to see how fast I can go in a race setting

Great videos! I’m at a very similar stage to you. Just broke 50 mins in 10k and did a 23:50 5k. Keep up the good work ! Sub 23 is on my radar 🏃🏻‍♂️😝

Definitely the best coffee making video ever posted to KZfaq. Also, congratulations on the 5k PB, and on beating the Garmin prediction! My own Garmin 5k prediction seems a bit crazy. My chip-timed 5k PB is 22:12, my Garmin estimate 5k PB is 21:18, and my Garmin 5k predictor is 18:30. My 1k PB since I got my Garmin almost a year ago is 3:49! If I ran that 1k PB five times in a row, I’d STILL be over 30 seconds above of what it thinks I can do 5k in. 😅

Great run Aubrey, to beat your PB when you're still coming back from injury is really good, trust the process! I've got a 5k race on Monday evening and hoping for low 20's or under 20 if everything goes to plan!

Love the cover image / thumbnail of this video, when's that guy show up? Real talk, congratulations....that's on being a great father. That Vaporfly 3 is a forefoot/ball strikers shoe that's noted for its poor stability for all but pure forefoot/ball strikers - and you're a midsole striker. While that carbon plates delivers a quicker transition to push-off, it puts greater stress on your hip due to moving quickly into hip extension at push-off.

Hi Aubrey, we talked about Garmin predictor before. First, congratulations on your beating the Garmin predictor. Was this a 5k continuous or 5x1k with some rests in between? I think it was former with you narrating each km. It was not clear from the video. In any case do a lactate threshold test and base your zones on LTHR. It is not a very difficult test, and it will help setup your zones more accurately. Right now, some of the stats do not make a lot of sense to me: you are being in zone 5 but Garmin is not giving much anaerobic benefit. If your zones were setup on lactate threshold and you did run in zone 5 so long, you should get substantial anaerobic benefit.
@AubreyRunning
@AubreyRunning 4 ай бұрын
Cheers, thank you so much! Yes it was continuous and I edited it this way to make it more an enjoyable watch as opposed to just seeing me running 5 k straight. I agree about the heart zones, I have a test coming soon and hopefully in a lab

Well done, Great achievement after the injury. I'm a bit confused though, did you recover after each 1k? If so don't you need to count the recovery time also in the total time?
@AubreyRunning
@AubreyRunning 4 ай бұрын
Fair question and I expect a lot more people to ask this. It’s why I labelled the talking part “post run split analysis”. I filmed those parts after the run run but edited it this way just build it up and also to give the viewer variation and not just watching me run the whole time. To answer your question… there was no recovery time… just running 22:26 straight
