Unsure if you will recognise my screen name, but I have been openly critical of you in the past, I have also praised you in the past. Video quality is excellent, but I've always said I doubt your knowledge for reviews with the small amount of running vs large amount of reviews. But this took balls and was right to do. I am quickly going off one of my favourite running youtubers due to the snide remarks they constantly make about other channels and podcasts. It's not needed. So well done for doing this Aubrey. And well done for the milage I have seen you building. We are learn and it seems like you have.

I recognise your name sir, it’s all good and as you say we are learning. As the days go by, the mission is to get better every day both as runners and just generally. The marathon training is well underway and the mileage is moving which helps. Just hoping to keep injuries at bay.

I don't think it's ever wrong to take what other people have said if you disagree with the opinion they put forward and comment on it, even work together with different opinions. Running shoes are a difficult one as each one is subjective to each person. I think I remember the video (I watch a lot of running shoe KZfaq), you disagreed with the guy, I can't remember thinking it was overly shocking. But if you believe the video didn't come out as intended and might have been taken the wrong way by someone, then fair play for owning it. Im sure Jason's got a few new subscribers thanks to you. Ive seen a few of his videos which are pretty decent, not subscribed until now though.

100% honesty from me is that I saw "that" video and then went on a search to see who you were referring to. I had not heard of Jason before so, in that sense, was good to find another "ShoeTuber". Then, following that, when a few channels seem to go big on "disclaimers" I thought is there a wider story to tell here so I did but only really, in the end, mentioned this more in passing rather than headlining on it. So my opening clip was of you talking to yourself about shoes bought or supplied and if that matters which seemed to me to be the under current of the question here. I see somebody else here suggesting not to refer to other KZfaqrs. Well I did an hour video on just that and it has been one of my best received ones so I can't really agree with that completely ! Indeed often I find it disappointing when some KZfaqrs seem to imply they are far too busy to watch anybody else. I then think how can you do a balanced review of a shoe if you actively don't want to know what others are thinking and/or may have missed something. Of course many of us will disagree on a shoe and I find shoe reviews can get quite "tribal". Some shoes/brands some people seem to want to like/dislike just for what they are generally and not necessarily how somebody "actually" finds a particular shoe. So yeah I think it is useful sometimes to say I like this one and others don't and vice versa but obviously need to be objective in expressing that.
@AubreyRunning3 күн бұрын
Tim, thanks for this. I also clarified to another commenter that my response to Jason has nothing to do with you or your video. I have no problems at all with your video because I actually enjoyed it and enjoy what you do. This was completely separate to your work. We live we learn and get better as we go.

yeah TBF I saw a few comments before my video came out on the same lines as this video. Maybe me mentioning it (and only really in passing TBH) made a few others aware of it. I just left a longer comment on the whole thing. That said, if you are still enjoying the Triumph 22 as much as you implied might be worth doing a longer term review as I certainly found it was a shoe that has had rather mixed reviews but clearly, now at version 22, is one of Saucony's most important ones.
