He said something extremely important in this episode regarding having people stand behind you at the phone or kiosk. Speak clearly and respectfully and people will typically respect you back. Everyone think you need to be hard in prison to survive - you don't. Just a clear and respectful communicator.

I actually have fond memories of being in road crew walking down the highway on a sunny day with a few homeboys, scooping trash, finding drugs, smoking cigarettes and singing songs. We made the best of it.

It cracked me up when dude asked for his radio he didn't realize, that dude was trying him. Never let someone you don't know step to you and ask for anything especially something like a radio. It's just a cheap radio but those things are like thirty bucks in jail and it's vital for lockup. But yeah that dude wasn't trying to just finesse him he was blatantly disrespecting him getting that radio like that in front of every one in the pod. That was a huge mistake

Yeah, I ran a small store in Sarasota County jail... it was the most stressful thing ever...! My orders were $200-300 per week, but my roommate was a huge Arian brotherhood or one of the Arian gangs, and we could roll our gates when we left the block... Only once did something go missing, but I couldn't prove anything... We knew who it may have been and he wound up checking in shortly afterwards...! In Sarasota County jail, in the 'blue lagoon'(the oldest part of the jail), whites are upstairs, blacks are downstairs... After that incident, that rule was enforced much harder... Thanks, keep up your awesomeness and go enjoy some nature today...

I'd have girls asking me for stuff as I'm ordering it too. I was always too nice. Purposely ordered extra coffee solely to share with others. Of course I was taken advantage of but I didn't care. It was just dollar store stuff in my eyes. Girls went crazy over it though. My roommate made my bed and cleaned up after me daily in exchange for a few cups of coffee. Shit is wild. They'll do anything for coffee.

Please give Sarah my most sincerest condolences. However, my empathy comes from a similar place... What I mean by that is, my mom died of cancer as well. She was diagnosed around Sept. '99. It started out as breast cancer, got better, came back, got worse,....and then March 3rd 2000 finally arrived. So, please let Sarah know that I feel for her, and I kinda know what she must be going through right now. Thank you.

“Commissary Day” was what I called “Game Day”. You didn’t workout the day before “game day”. And also “Game Day’s” was often where the rest of your season will be decided.

Back in 2012 I was sentenced to 4 years then a few months later got another 4 months added. But, the prison where I started my time had buttons to get out your cells. And, to get back in, you have your own key to unlock. Like a house key. Shiiiittt, the cells had heated floors! I could not believe that shit, man. God damn man.

I've always said that prosecutor's and judges should have to serve 30 days prior to given a license to put anyone behind bars. They make police get tased and Maced so it's only right to make this happen. As for the episode I spent$100 a week had no issues. But if you have koolaid in your veins don't spend alot get your basics if you get locked up man and your like Alex man make friends with a big guy give the block boss some free stuff you should be ok

Thats hilarious i took batteries out of the remote myself too. But it was a rookie co. He literally just put new batteries in it..didn't say a word about it..i ran up the tear with my 2 batteries and my 2 paperclips. 😄

15years ago, I was in county lockup, I ended up trading toilet paper rolls, no paper just the cardboard rolls for jollyranchers, sometimes beef sticks and sometimes some ramen. I even traded for a shower head someone had made from an old deodorant stick. I didn't have money, but people needed more toilet paper. You would stick your empty roll in the window of your cell and whenever the CO would come around they would give you full rolls for your empty ones. Did not like it in there at all and I don't ever plan on going back, they just treat you like an animal in there. Respect and Love from Townsend Tennessee.
