Oh, Angela was always a knock-out. The moment she debuted, she overshadowed Topanga far as I'm concerned. And then Rachel took Topanga's spot, so it's Angela, Rachel, then Topanga.

Tbh. GMW made it seem as if Angela wasn't even a close friend. Disappointing

@@belenfajardo247 TBH, her final episode in BMW did that. SHe just vanished in the second last episode because her dad showed up. She's an adult in college and had been for 3 years. That would have been an okay plot if it happened in highschool. But Angela just abandoned all of her friends to go travel with her dad. She had been with Shawn for 3 years (off and on) at this point.

@@aviraes This was still an adult woman. She was 21 at this point. She just abandoned her entire life because her dad showed up and she went to go live with him. Like, that's weird. This kind of thing would have been fine if she was in highschool. But she just ditches her entire life. The character assassination happens in the final episode she was in BMW. GMW had to work with a mess already.

@@elijahroderick1305 It was only supposed to be temporary. Angela just wanted to spend a year with her dad and then come back. GMW made her never come back and pretty much made her a villain. They loved each other more than anything so it's hard to believe she would just abandon him. The writers only did that so they could make him get with Katy so Maya would have a dad. He didnt have to have marry her mom to be her dad. He could have just been a father figure to her kinda like Mr. Turner or Mr. Feeney was to him. They say Shawn and Angela weren't realistic, but what are the odds that your dad's best friend is going to marry your best friend's mom. That's way to convenient. It might not be the only reason GMW got canceled but im sure it was part of it.

Yes a wedding is a happy occasion, and since it’s for you, you are allowed to be a little self centered but not to the point where you are making everybody else miserable and treating them like actual servants at your back and call, because it’s “your wedding and everything needs to be absolutely perfect” you can still afford to be kind and observant of others feelings, heck topanaga was ready to strangle him if there was a problem

@@choppedandcruised Exactly!!!!! Wait!!!!! I think Amy realizes something is off too & could tell the argument between the Shawn and Cory was not about the tuxes or cans. She realized there was a deeper issue, Cory looked like he was ripe for a panic attack & pressing him about what's really bothering him might have backfired. Shawn became more emotionally intelligent & mature than Cory as they grew older. I noticed that they had switched coping mechanisms. Shawn moved from avoiding addressing the elephant in the room to acknowledging it & while Cory had moved from addressing the elephant in the room to avoiding it. While I really liked Katie, & love the bond between Shawn & Maya, I realize more & more that Angela was a better choice to be his wife. Shawn & Angela communicated better, deeper, more raw, real & vulnerable, held space & was patient with each other. That relationship would have lasted, if writers had let it. Katie was great & had a lot of great attributes as a person & mom, dealing with what they've gone through, but rewatching BMW & GMW as an adult, the Shawn & Katie relationship seems like fluff & way too convenient (like a rush to tie up loose ends & give Shawn a happy ending). On that note, Cory & Topanga's friendship to relationship from childhood to high school graduation (minus proposal) seemed solid, mature & natural, but from their engagement, straight through rest of BMW & to the end of GMW, writers got sloppy with their story. It became mostly wishful thinking & fluff. Alan & Amy marriage was more realistic, stable strong marriage but time & battle-tested to peaceful (speaking of which, kudos to the pair that played Eric's parents, they show U without telling U). The writers may have intended for Riley to be the central character for GMW, but Maya's complexities, personalities, approaches, perspective, mind, solutions and coping strategies, grabbed my attention.

@@rowenaramsaran4256 sis you said a word with this and I agree with EVERYTHING you said! I think Shawn’s relationship with Angela and loss of his dad helped build his emotional intelligence for sure. He had to rely less on Cory especially when he got more serious with Topanga. Katie was a fun personality but I found she actually had very little in common with Shawn. It did feel rushed which I’m sure confused the audience. Riley like Cory in BMW became a secondary character to Maya for sure.
