This show did not want Shawn to be happy...

GMW completely ruined the legend that was Shawn and Angela...smh.

I love shawn and Angela their relationship was so great to me they should have ended up together the only thing that i didnt like is that they kept comparing their relationship to corey and Topanga like their two different couples i wish they would have accepted that instead of trying to make it so perfect

I say it once and I say it again, If they would've rekindle their romance when both Shawn and Angela re-united in GMW, I bet any amount of money the show would've never cancelled as old fans of BMW would have flock to GMW just to see the dynamic friendship and relationship between Cory, Topanga, Shawn and Angela

Seriously, why did GMW keep saying Angela abandoned Shawn? She didn't abandon him, she talked with him and both agreed it was for the best. They also shouldn't have ended with her and Shawn never getting back together, because that ruined how much growth and chemistry those two had.

Shawn and Angela had the most realistic relationship on that show. I wish they would have given them a better break up, and a even better reunion on the now defunct GMW.... Shawn and Angela were magic.... We actually saw them fall in love, break up, handle the ups and downs, and become stronger together because of it.... Their portrayal of a couple was realistic! :-)

What disappoints me is when Angela showed up GMW, Cory wasn’t happy to see her either. It completely discredits this goodbye and their entire friendship.

That look Angela gave Shawn from 3:10 to 3:16 was so wholesome you could see how much love she has for him and genuinely didn’t want to leave him

Now that I’m older, the shit they pulled with these characters is even more irritating. Especially thinking about how the same writer spun their relationship in GMW. 1 year is like no time when you’re in college and she would have to come back to finish out school. Plus this was like 2000 so they could have emailed each other or called or even instant messaged and they _already said_ they would keep in touch. And her father likes them together! There’s no way he wouldn’t have encouraged Angela to be with Shawn again after they had their time together. Not to mention the implausibility of never getting in touch with your best friend from high school and college again and then not speaking to her when you’re back in town. I just don’t understand the point of putting the two characters with the heaviest baggage through more shit right at the end. I’d honestly believe Cory and Topanga got divorced before I could be convinced that Shawn and Angela wouldn’t pick things up again after a single year abroad.

She only gone for a year 😂. With the technology in the lates 90s and early 2000s they definitely all could have kept in touch a bit. Shawn and Angela definitely could have gotten back together when she came back. Like damn.....

I had no intention of watching GMW before but now that I know the outcome of this relationship I definitely won't be watching it and am going to stay in ny bubble of Shawngela forever.

Shawn and Angela's chemistry peaked in this episode. They had amazing chemistry throughout the series, the best chemistry in my opinion but idk if it was the added emotions of this being Trina's final episode, their chemistry was electric here especially in this final scene. You can tell how comfortable the actors were with each other. And Rider did great individual work here too. He played heartbroken so well. The little looks at her when Angela was saying bye to the others, the despair as they hugged for the final time, how his eyes would scan her face. The writers would've struck gold if they reunited them on GMW, from heart wrenching goodbye to long-awaited magical reunion.

Super upsetting. Shawn and Angela didn’t even have a goodbye kiss. This whole storyline never really sat right with me and now that I’m older and know more, it really doesn’t sit well. A college-aged woman going away to Europe to spend time with her father? For a whole year? I understand not spending a lot of time together when she was a child, but living with a grown man now as you’re an adult woman? College age is when most people seek out their independence and privacy. Also, her father would have to get her listed on his orders as a military service member. It’s not just as simple as him asking her to come along, he’d have to get it written up in his official orders and she’d have to be his Dependent in order for her to go along and it be paid for by the military. Otherwise, it would cost him and her a lot of money just to fly her to Europe, not to mention have her live there with him. And by this time in the series she’s not a child anymore, she’s grown, maybe 21 years old? She couldn’t be his Dependent at that age I don’t think. Maybe she could but not for too much longer. So realistically, it just never made sense to me that she would choose to go with him. Her going with him was just a plot device. Shawn and Angela should have been endgame and looking back at this episode, it’s sad the writers chose to do this.

It really shocks me that people had no idea this show existed before Girl Meets World. It worries me! How can you NOT know about the iconic Boy Meets World?! Girl Meets World is such a fail compared to this. But then again, I'm a 90s baby.

Shawn and Angela are in the top 5 of my favorite TV couples of all time. They were robbed, and so was every girl and boy who watched this show rooting for them.

Idc what anyone says, after this they tried to make it work took a small break from each other and then reunited when Angela came back. I just know the love they had for each other brought them back together.

I think Shawn was being hella overdramatic. He assumed they were over because she went with her dad?! Why?! Angela said flat out she would write every day and she wasn't going to have any contact with other guys. Shawn took all the time he needed to find himself on his road trip and the million and one times he had to go figure his stuff out away from their relationship. He should've given her that chance. Furthermore, she went for a set time period-a year. He could've waited a year. She waited longer than that for him.

The main strength of their relationship was to have the capacity to fix things up and basing everything on communication, respect and listening each other without any judgement, that's precisely the kind of relationship which have the most chance to last and you add the unconditional love they have for each other and here we are our endgame, realistic one in irl by the way and I'm talking for experience... and GMW sold us the exact opposite, like really, how come make more cheap than that show ?? In the end, people always are assuming they broke but I didn't see in that way : Angela needed to spend time with her a dad more than anything in the world and Shawn more than anyone understood it and let her go acting so selfless and just thinking on her own good, more pure love proof you can't beat that one. And then relieved she decide to go... for a year as the show told us, they didn't break up and she didn't take off or abandon him either as I'm always reading. About their relationship, the end of the show couldn't be more open so I don't get why people are presuming she abandoned him if factually she didn't. Plus, after all what they passed through as much within their relationship as with their own issues, issues they always end up dealing together by the way, they relationship was way too strong at the end of BMW and they had over passed too much commun fears as commitment and hurting each other or yet abandonement issue leading them to fear being abandoned by the other. They over passed all that stuffs together so trying to make us believe that that year apart made them split up because they didn't keep touch to each other 😕I mean, again just basing myself on the strength level of their relationship being off the charts by the end of BMW, if we want to talk about realism, it was way too unrealistic to wanr make us believe that in GMW and quite insulting for the audience mostly by the lame excuse as all college relationship didn't last, well some of them did though and in my opinion it was more unrealistic making Corpanga last for many reasons but still they did make them last as THE endgame so 😞. For god sake, it happened in 2000, the beginning of the celular area and mails and stuff, basically they was too solid at the end of the show and had fought too much to over passed so much obstacles to end up losing touch for 15 fucking years and even more with the new ways of communication being instantly and not so long and uncertain as letters was and digging deeper on the surrealism and orginal show's plot and characters rewritten, make her loose touch with Cory and Topanga too all thar overnight of course, more BS than that you can't compete.

The writers of BMW and GMW really tried to 1) villianize Angela’s character 2) kill off everything about her story arch 3) and switch the narrative to make it look like she broke up with Shawn. If he wanted her to stay she would’ve (she even said so) but he loved her enough to let her go. The problem was he didn’t have faith that she would’ve come back to him hence him saying “Goodbye Angela” at the end.

I love Eric. I honestly think he meant what he said about her being his favorite. You can see it some of the episodes. I do wish that they would have gotten together maybe not forever because of Shawn but just for a while to see how their chemistry would work. Since Shawn and Angela didn't end up together in GMW she could have returned as Eric's girlfriend.

Kind of wish Topanga/Cory didn't take the moment away from Shawn, Angela just left, why couldn't she just wait a day or two to bring up her news? Also, I don't know who's fault it was - Shawn's for not being more assertive, or Angela's because she kept bringing up how happy she was to spend time with her dad

I was born mid-way of the 2000s and never found an interest for the new shows- they seemed forced for some reason. When I got older, my mom began to show me the 90s shows and- well I think it’s obvious to say they were much better. Some Disney shows like Good Luck Charlie and some others were okay but I leaned in more to the old shows. When I saw BMW and then GWM, it was a total disaster. Ngl, Corey and Topanga weren’t it for me- something felt off. When they showed Shawn- I LOST IT. I was expecting Angela back but it made me sad I didnt :((
