Youngest world champion in history at age 17 winning Brazil's first world title in Sweden in 1958. 3. Pele holds the official record for most goals all time 1284 goals or 1283 without counting the special going away farewell goal. Unless some player manages to be in the goat level and breaks all his world records, no one can truly say they are the real goat. The World Cup titles are the gold standard for goat evaluation especially back to back world championships. Of course given how difficult it is to win a World Cup, not everyone is qualified to be the next goat.

Pelé was the best or one of the best in anything that one needs as a player, headers, leadership, creativity, assistance, free shut goals, dribbling, chilena, team play, competitiveness, and game IQ. Messy is not a header man, he's certainly not a leader, he had the chance to play in the best club that ever existed but in his own national team he cannot win just because he doesn't have the Barca organisation or Pep Guardiola behind him. Cristiano, forget it, he's brilliant but miss many of Pele qualities like team play, leadership, game IQ, and world cups. By the way none of them had been as successful and display of skill at young age as Pele did in two world cups. The only players that were as hi IQ as Pele and team play level plus competitiveness but were not as brilliants in other skills were Zico, Ronaldinho and Zizu probably. Ronaldo Nazario was extremely skilful and even more powerful sprinter, but didn't have the level of IQ and leadership as high as Pele, he also got too many injuries that didn't allow him show more. ah! Maradona, he was may be as good as Pele during Mexico World Cup and Napoli times, not a good header of-course, and was too individualistic many times. Ronaldinho is probably the closest one but had too much party and I think only one worldcup. So, Pele was the most complete player and the best in many of these things, that's why he is the king.
