Thanks for sharing! Great tips! Just a question hope you could help please! I break strings sometimes when doing the crosses. I don’t know why and how I can solve the problem. I sometimes even low the tension to 25-26lbs but it still happens. Only with BG 66U and Aerobite booster 2. They’re quite thin. Again, it doesn’t happen all the time but sometimes it’s quite annoying. I’m using Pro-Stringer machine. Thanks 🙏

@@CKYew I've heard it from this video around the 1:45 mark kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hqyCeNaKu8W6p5c.html Maybe it is done to even out the shape of the racket since the width at the top is smaller than the bottom, and to reduce the stress applied at the top since the length is shorter at that area. Not sure about the cons of it but I think that it helps make the frame more even, plus increasing the balance of the sweet spot distributed on the top and the bottom..?

clamps as close as possible to the frame and perhaps add another 10% of tension on your last 2 strings. You can learn more about the knots I use in this video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eayEp7OiyK7Gk4k.html

Yes . I already saved the knots video and following that knots as you mentioned. Thank you for that. Can I use starting clamp to hold the tension and close to the frame as there is not much room . I feel starting clamp can pit in that gap . Is that work with starting clamp ?

Hello, love the videos, I've watched them all. You've helped me in my stringing journey. I've been stringing for just over one year now with a Pros pro challenger l drop weight. I want to upgrade to the wise 2086, and I am wondering what side clamps you use? They look great! Also, do you think this machine is of enough quality to justify the wise upgrade, or should I invest in a gamma machine and then buy the wise? Thanks
@CKYew
@CKYew 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Dustin, thank you for commenting, I’m really glad the videos have helped you! That’s the whole purpose of me making videos like these. 😊 Side clamps? Are you referring to the side supports on the 2, 4, 8 and 10 o'clock? They're actually custom made by an amazing dude called Michal Chudek, not sure if he still makes them (I'll check) but they're amazing! For your upgrade thought, going from a drop weight onto the 2086 (a.racquetdepot.co.uk/home.php?id=395&url=148) would be an amazing upgrade. I actually had a Challenger 1 too and upgraded to a 2086! Just make sure you have the adapter plate (a.racquetdepot.co.uk/home.php?id=395&url=147) as well. It all depends on how much you're willing to spend on your stringing machine, if you're going to be doing plenty of rackets, having a machine that is ergonomically sound (typically more expensive machines) will save you a lot of hassle down the line. I decided to upgrade my other machine (not in this video) in bits actually instead of going for a super expensive machine, I ended up having the custom Chudek side supports, the 2086, a set of automatic swivel clamp rails (www.racquetdepot.co.uk/pros-pro-automatic-swivel-clamp-base-v2/) and 2 custom fixed clamps as well 😬

@@CKYew Due to the quality and age of my machine, the fixed clamps have broken and I have removed them. I have been using Yonex fly clamps for a while now. Do you have any methods to keeping tension on the main tie-off points? With fly clamps, using the Yonex method, I have to clamp the last two mains, and that leaves a portion of string, un-tensioned while doing the tie-off.
@CKYew
@CKYew 3 жыл бұрын
@@lorddustin06 Ahhh, as your fixed clamps have broken, it might be a good opportunity to upgrade to new rails for not too much money. If you prefer to use almost the same rails, you can try these: a.racquetdepot.co.uk/home.php?id=395&url=149. Unfortunately, that's one of the big downsides of using flying clamps only :(

Dear what about weaving first and then put racket on machine for tension with one piece of string without cut of two halves
@CKYew
@CKYew 2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't pre weave because the tension you pull wouldn't be accurate otherwise. Stringing with only 1 piece of string is fine. Its actually called '1 piece stringing' 😊
@advancedlearner330
@advancedlearner330 2 жыл бұрын
How come pre weaving doesn't have accurate tension can you explain on this please.
@carlantaya175
@carlantaya175 Жыл бұрын
@@advancedlearner330 The only real issue I've come across with pre-weaving is developing a lot of twist in the string throughout the racket. Which reduces string life quite a bit. If you can eliminate the twisting which is not easy... should be fine. Usually end up with a chaotic mess. As long as you tension each string individually which means you have to leave some slack in the line there will not be any tension loss. The slack builds up over time as the string stretches... You just end up with this twisty fucking mess holy fuck.

Im not sure about other stringers but I try and pull it slower so it doesnt burn and hopefully have the kinks under control. Untangle them before pulling your next one too will help slightly! Good luck!

Hey there, just watched all you videoes on stringing. I have a problem with my strining, when i put my main strings in the racket frame it becomes too compressed, and once it even broke the racket, because of this compression. It all evens out when i put the cross strings in, but Im scared that the racket Will break before i get around to putting the cross strings in just like it did that one time. I was told it was because i wasnt mounting frame correctly, but i dont Know how to fix the problem. Do you have an solution, or has anybody else experienced something like this?
@CKYew
@CKYew 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Anders, good to hear from you. A few questions, are you working on a 2 point machine or a 6 point machine? What tensions were you pulling? How did you mount your racket? Were the frame supports sitting flush with the racket frame? Where did you start your mains? From the centre of the racket?
@andersolesen2607
@andersolesen2607 3 жыл бұрын
@@CKYew Thanks for the Quick reply! I am using the same machine as you, but with different side support, but still 6 point support. I use the yonex stringing science tutorial, and I’m almost certain the support point where sitting flush. So I also started from the middle. The racket that broke, broke while I was measuring string for the cross strings 👍
@CKYew
@CKYew 3 жыл бұрын
@@andersolesen2607 Its important to note all 6 side supports should only be a 'loose finger tight' against the racket frame. The supports should not compress or deform the frame in any way when the racket is mounted. It is normal for the racket to change its shape slightly when mains tension is applied but that's why you have the side supports there for the frame to resist against that and not deform. Did you have any damage on your frame prior to stringing?
@andersolesen2607
@andersolesen2607 3 жыл бұрын
@@CKYew it was only a few months Old with no damages, could it possibly be the side support becoming looser while stringing?
@CKYew
@CKYew 3 жыл бұрын
@@andersolesen2607 If you're using the original K-style supports, I've seen some of them not seated properly during racket frame mounting and popped up during stringing thus allowing the racket to deform and break ultimately.
