Like always thanks for the videos. The top on my Brunswick 212 does not stay up at all. I was looking through your videos and couldn't find the video that shows how to fix the top. How would you fix this problem? Thanks

You have to pull the motor board out, then there is a tension spring that may be broken. #897 talks about that tension spring when I’m working on a Brunswick Navarre.

Do you have any ideas on how to re-paint the gold detailing in the speed control area? Thanks!

First, you have to go in and match the paint, then you go in with a tiny paintbrush, super fine point and touch it up

What do you do if the platter won't lift right off? Is there a C-clip or anything holding it on?

Some of them have a tiny C clip, mostly on portables. Have one person pull up firmly on the turntable and have the other person wrap lightly on the spindle with the brass hammer. If you are going to refill the turntable, you can hit it with a spray of WD-40, and let it soak in, and then try to pop it off.

My Brunswick doesn't have any lift rings, so I'm not sure how I'd remove the motor.

You have to kind of pick it up by the spindle shaft, and then grab an edge. First of course you will have removed all the tonearm and reproducer, back bracket, crank. You may send me a picture of the inside of The Phonograph under the lid if you need more advice on how to lift the motor out. Dyslexicgenius hurt@gmail.com
