Invicta might pay less per n35a movement with massive ordering, so it will have more profit buffer room even with $60 the watches sells for. With that said, $60 is the best deal on the market for an automatic watches gives you hacking, quick date set, 20 bar water resistance...

Bought a black Invicta Pro Diver back in 2006 for $100. Have worn it in a swimming pool, on the beach in saltwater and everywhere in between. It’s still functioning and is one of the best and most reliable watches that I’ve ever owned. Actually better than a few of my over $500 timepieces. Still wearing it regularly, 16 years and counting.

Great insight into the workings of a Pro Diver! I've had mine for over twenty years and I love it to bits. It's a bit unusual in that it's got a beautiful red dial with the black bezel and I don't think they did red ones for too long. I've worn it for work and play, swam in pools and the sea with it, worn it snorkelling and scuba diving, and it's never skipped a beat, never succumbed to water ingress and it still looks like new! Excellent video. I watched from beginning to end. I was never bored. I just received an Invicta pro diver from Amazon. I had ordered a Orient searay2 and it arrived in a nice box.Looked fantastic but mine wouldn't run. I tried to make it work cause I wanted to keep it. But it wouldn't run and I sent it back to Amazon. Instead of refunding my money,they put the balance on a gift card. I ended up buying said Invicta. Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised. It came package at least as nice as my Tissot watch did,if not better. It's only been a day but this watch looks,runs, and feels like a quality watch.It may fall apart tomorrow and I still won't be out much. I have several swiss made watches and several more that were much less expensive. The Invicta is now the cheapest one I own. I'll wear it more than the others just to prove it to myself that sometimes,you get more than you pay for. Way more. Time will tell. Pun intended. mjc.

Compared side by side to the real thing, you can tell the difference in weight and look, but I enjoy them both. When I was walking and got hit by a car, the Invicta Rolex homage watch was smashed to pieces. I am glad I wasn't wearing my real Rolex at the time. Watch snobs should let it go. Over a week I checked the accuracy to 5 seconds per day and am well pleased with the results. I have no intention to dive with it as I already have other Seiko dive watches, it just looks good on the wrist! I actually do use the hacking facility regularly to calibrate my watches against my radio controlled GMT clock. Overall I think this is a great little timepiece for the price (£84) especially with trusted Seiko automatic movement. I can only assume detractors think that because of the low price it simply cannot be any good and dismiss it out of hand. I am not ashamed to wear this watch. Thanks very much for this video........I have bought a few INVICTA watches over the years and have thought they usually offer value for money........The quality has been very decent for the price paid for the watch, and the look and presentation of the watch also scores highly.......As a all up package, I have found that they do represent good value for what you pay.......If you are smart about the particular watch you purchase from their considerable range you should expect to be very satisfied with your purchase without fatal consequences to your bank balance......Lastly, many of the extreme and negative comments made by collectors about INVICTA watches are way over the top.....Get a grip on yourself fellers, at the end of the day we are talking about a mass produced item that is modest in its price, is reliable and gives you good service with very reasonable design & build quality.....This is NOT a ROLEX, but if you buy an INVICTA with expectations of receiving ROLEX quality and performance in return, the problem may lay with you in the first place!!......If you are expecting the performance & quality of a ROLEX the be prepared to stump up the $10K+ starting price and quit the bitching!.....At the end of the day it is still only a watch; not a priceless religious artefact, crutch for your ego or the cure for cancer!!.....OK!???

Have had my Pro Diver for about 15 years now. Similar to the one in the video, but with a Miyota movement (8215 I believe). Replaced the movement after about 10 years, as it would freeze up and not keep time. Its been about 5 years since and its still going strong! Really love that watch!

Great video! Learned some things I didn’t know and gained a greater appreciation for talented folks like yourself. I just purchased a Invicta Pro Diver 43545 for $30 on Amazon’s Prime day. But honestly didn’t really know that much about them, outside of sites that are selling them. I don’t really like the majority of their models of watches (alarm clocks for your wrist), and too busy, for my taste. I was attracted to this model by it’s 40mm case and the beauty of less is more. Your video and review were greatly informative and I love that you showed the complete dismantling, cleaning and reassembling in it’s entirety. I’m a retired aerospace machinist and appreciate the precision of close tolerances and complexities of workmanship. Thank you Sir.

I'm wearing this one right now and keeps excellent time. I was working in water a whole day with it on and not a single problem with that. The lume is great compared to other more expensive watches i have. Everything lines up on the watch as does with my other 5/6 Invictas. You really can't go wrong with these watches with the price bracket. If you want to pay a bit more for a good budget watch then get an Orient or Seiko for around £170-£270.

Very good video tutorial. Nicely paced and well narrated. This serves to show how tricksy it is to service a mechanical watch, even when you know what you're doing. I think the issue with Invicta is that their pricing varies wildly; whilst you might pay $75 in one place, you could equally end up paying three or four times that elsewhere.

I noticed your "budget" comment, so I wanted to tell you, you're not missing all that much with the genuine article. I had this Invicta watch in two-tone (9028) and loved it. Then, I went to the Bahamas and saw the two-tone 18K/SS Rolex Submariner it replicates for $5,000 (it's $30,000 now). They were $6,000 in the US, but also tax. Paying no mind to multiple pina coladas, it was an enormous expense, but my VISA allowed me to do it (along with the rum), so I did. It came with a beautiful wood box I had to leave behind, in order not to have to deal with duty. If you're wearing it, they can't say you got it there if you don't have the box (and the jeweler would not ship it). The thing of a lifetime was now on my wrist. I appreciated it all the time, I even slept with it on, but that's not unusual for me not to take my watch off; they're like rings to me; I keep them on in bed, at the gym, during sex, showering, bike rides, etc.) . It wasn't all that long that kept looking at it and admiring it, until I realized why I was studying it so intensely. I discovered I had loved the anticipation of owning it, more than actually owning it. It was like wanting to see a movie, having that anticipation, then when you've seen it, it's over. It was a great movie; do I want to see it again? It was the most beautiful watch I owned. I had loved it for years before, and only dreamed of owning one. My dream came true, but it changed the moment it wasn't a dream anymore, but it took me a little while to figure it out. I ended up selling the watch a couple years later, and at a loss at that. I didn't know the market, but it doesn't matter now. I do regret selling it, but I did need the money at that time. I do however remember that experience and it has served me well. Now those things I want really bad aren't things I want so bad after all. I now know the difference in anticipation of having something, and then actually having it. I lost money on that watch, but the experience was extremely valuable. I don't go around anymore thinking, "I wish I had one of those". Things I once thought were impressive, really aren't. I have $113 to go before my car is paid for (this month!). It looks and drives great for a 6 year old car; I bought it new. I could have bought a new car a long time ago, but guess what I learned? A new car would do nothing for me. It would drive the same and get me to the same places. There's nothing wrong with the one I have and I've just given myself a $325 a month raise by not buying a new one! I couldn't justify that Rolex and I can't justify a new car. I'm back to wearing my Invicta watches and I love them now like I used to. Oh sure, I look down and miss the Rolex crown on the face sometimes, but I smile inside, because of the lesson I learned. It's not fun not to want something, not to wish for or anticipate, but be realistic about those feelings, why you feel that way and how you will feel when your wish comes true. Rolex is beautiful, don't get me wrong. I'm simply not in the income bracket not to be bothered by the cost. There's also no reason for a redneck in Florida to be walking around with a Rolex anyhow. The newness of such a purchase comes and goes very quickly, no matter what it is really. Coming from someone who knows, you're really not missing anything except a huge monthly bill years into the future. I actually wanted a motorcycle and getting one of those and wearing an Invicta is a lot more practical.
@who399
@who399 5 ай бұрын
@floridaredneck congrats on finishing off your car payments. That must be a relief finally 😀 oh I'm not one for fancy for fancy sake, but something about the Rolex and Cadillac I just adore. My grandfather came to Canada with nothing but the clothes on his back and was able to obtain all the status quo symbols of success like the Cadillac and Rolex and other things of that nature by working hard and paying his dues so I want to live up to that. Crazy I know, but it's what I like. I have a few invicta watches, and they're all fantastic. However, I'm looking to sell a couple of them just so I can get some smaller sized watches. Honestly, the name of the watch shouldn't matter as long as you like it, I like Mr. Jones watches because they have unique qualities like scenery that moves in the watch face, and pieces of the scene are the hands of the watch, and they are under 1000$ for the top model. I do understand the falsehoods of therapy that shopping gives you it's almost worse than drugs, and regardless of what you spend and how awesome the things you bought are, it literally fades in a moments notice. What's the best memory of your current car?

I have an older version with a Miyota movement. I modified the watch with a dial that I designed myself. Never had any problems with it. I was at an appointment with my cardiologist one day and noticed he was wearing what appeared to be an 8926 Invicta. I asked him about it and he took it off and showed it to me. It was an Invicta but it had an ETA movement and a much higher quality bracelet. I wasn't aware there was such a thing. It looked identical to my watch but up close you could see and feel the difference.

It's not common to find an Invicta with an ETA movement, at least not in a mechanical timepiece. Most of the Swiss made Invicta watches that are mechanical have a Sellita SW200-1 movement, which is basically a clone of an ETA 2824-2. Only few Invicta models have an ETA movement, usually in a quartz or the rare ETA 7750. Since ETA now only makes movements for specific brands, the Swiss made Invicta watches use movements made by Sellita

Oddly enough, this exact watch came in this week. A gent needed a couple links removed. I had no idea the watch was so affordable. I was thinking of buying a Seiko to sit next to my first watch, at 60 years old I bought my first watch, I'm still 60. Retiring self employed I bought a gold amalgam Japanese movement 50m Citizen, I like it and it didn't bust my bank, & when I look at it I feel retired on my terms. I'd been given two watches through my life that I rarely wore, I can't even remember the brands, stainless 80's watches... the last was a dive watch that my sweat ate alive in the desert... a gift to me, in the desert... So now I have a nice cheap gold watch, I bought it on special for about $250 AU. The thing I like most about it is that while it looks nice, if I get robbed I wont cry. So with the same mind I'd like a Seiko after watching all these you tube videos... to be my second watch after all the good reports, and having another Japanese movement, they'd be fiercely competitive. & I do like the idea of having a watch look like a Rolex, as I'll never be able to afford one, and that model is very cool. Two birds one stone, good movement for the money with a good look... I like it, thanks for making your video.

Honestly, these days not all Chinese watches can be sniggered at anymore. I recently bought a Pagani Design Sub homage because I'd read so many good things about them and at the price it seemed rude not to. Build quality is easily on par with the current generation Seiko 5's but at a third the price. You get stainless construction and unlike the Seiko, ceramic bezel insert, sapphire, solid end links, screw in links and a nice clasp. The NH35 was running about - 15 but I've regulated it to +10 per week. I'm blown away by what you get for the money, and I'm not sniggering anymore. In the case of that Invicta, I might be a little concerned about that yellow finish they've used on the rota. As standard the NH35 is bare metal so hopefully the finish they've used to individualise won't start flaking away over time and infect the movement.

All have a fantastic look on the ‘Nato’ strap. I love the look and quality of these watches and admire the mechanical movement, especially from a respected brand like Seiko. It also is not accurate at all, but for this money you can't expect that. But it does keep on running up to now, although I haven't worn it in years. Pretty good deal I think, especially since Seiko has gone nuts with the Seiko 5 prices, they are absolutely not worth the money nowadays.

I actually really liked this overall. I'm not an ivory tower watch snob, but from my zeal with other hobbies where performance is comparatively appreciable among those involved enough to notice it, I do see where they could be coming from and appreciate the ability to balance "best-bang-for-buck" where it matters based on the intended user. And for most folks on a budget (but willing to invest in more than what Walmart or Amazon dropshippers have to offer) this seems to be very much where it's at. I've heard the name Invicta with all sorts of inconclusive and hyperbolic descriptions in various forums on either end of the spectrum, but this level-headed breakdown really does makes me willing to try them and see how it goes. (Especially for 60ish dollars like wtf who fucking cares for a non-quartz movement at a sub-$200-300 pricepoint)

Thanks for doing this. I have one of these and I’m astounded that they can make a profit making these. Mine keeps great time, the amplitude is good and the beat error is about 1 msec. The case and bracelet are really solid, and the dial and hands are spectacular. It’s a hacking movement and it’s got a see-through case back. As a novice watch repair tech I would service this without sweat, because I could replace it for a fraction of the price of having it serviced by a professional watchmaker. This has to be one of the best values for money in the watch business. I don’t have a horse in this race but I think Invicta has won the triple crown with this winner.

I think 1 ms BE is a bit high, but if it's keeping time well enough for you it doesn't actually matter. I recently regulated the NH35 in my Phoibos Leviathan, and the lever for correcting beat error is a tricky thing to interact with. You want to give it _tiny_ nudges, but it's easy to give it a big shove by accident. Also, the balance is right underneath and if you foul that you'll feel very bad. Anyhow, I absolutely agree the value proposition in these watches is really tough to beat. I don't know if I'd spend the time to service an NH35 even if I was capable of doing so (not yet!!). They're just so cheap, they last, and they're a perfect choice for watches like this. I recently bought a Zelos Hammerhead with an NH35, and I'm completely happy with it in that USD$350 diver as well. Enjoy your watch!

I own several Invictas with NH35A and Swiss movements and have liked them for years. I have 2 of the 40mm homage (8926OB) and a few other Pro Divers. The NH35As are fairly accurate ~10-15 secs/day out of the box. I think they're a great watch for the money.

Now at least someone noticed this amazing deal from Invicta. I have been buying Invicta for a few years already, they use Seiko movements and they are so reliable and accurate! I own 60+ watches ranging from Casio all the way to an Omega golden watch, and I am a mechanical inclined person. Don’t expect a Rolex or equivalent brand, but for under $100 that’s the best you can get for something looks like a diving watch. However I won’t be using it as a true diver watch anytime though, don’t mess around with a watch if your life is depended on it!

I really like my Invicta watches. The last time I had my Breitling serviced, it cost $600 usd; I could buy 8+ Invicta for that. Also. I use the hacking feature to set the time against an atomic clock. Makes it easy to see how accurate it is over 24 hours. Excellent video! Thanks

Thank you so much for your the lerned video...so excellently done before our eyes by a master craftsman. I am especially pleased by your tutorial on Invicta because after my brief research into the movement, I sort of bit hard and purchased 5 of them...two Grand Divers and three lesser dive watches. I really love the beauty of their design, and now after watching your study of a Grand Diver, I am a lot more at ease with my decision to buy Invicta. Thank you.

I bought two of them for under $50 each on Amazon. A pro diver and a speedway. Couldn’t be more satisfied with them. They work perfectly. They tell time accurately. They look great. A watch is a tool. These work great and look great. I’ll never pay more than $150 for a watch and can’t see why anyone would.

I've never seen anything like this, I found it absolutely enthralling. I was looking at these watches on Amazon but was unsure of what the quality would be like, so "Thank You" I've just ordered one. I bought one at Costco, calling it my "Rolex trainer" LOL, but soon found that it stopped periodically because the second hand was lightly touching the inside of the crystal. The second hand was leaving a visible trace on the glass due to a thin film of evaporated oil deposit, which was easier to see when a watch has black dial. Costco would refund but didn't have any in stock so I took it home to correct it myself. When I opened the case back, I found a couple of small pits in the O-ring groove, which would compromise water resistance. A generous amount of silicone grease made it suitable for daily wearing and even washing in the sink. Otherwise the materials and quality exceed the price point.
