When the mom or other people say "but my kid wants to do it," they're totally discounting the way that children (particularly the oldest child) in an abusive family can have a "fawn" response. That is, they internalize and go along with things because it seems like their best option to have a somewhat harmonious relationship with the parent and minimize violent outcomes for themselves and others. Speaking from personal experience.
@reinajalana
@reinajalana 4 күн бұрын
Yeah, it's a power thing. Mom's in the position of power and suggestion so that, even for things kids would rather not do, they will just because Mom suggested or introduced it. They likely wouldn't even know where to begin to say no...or even really, accurately conceptualized that as a legitimate choice. And all of that even more so when the parent is a known strict dictator and not the most flexible or open to "no" in pretty much any other context. So, long-story short, it shouldn't be surprising about any kid not going out of their way to say no, they don't/no longer want to do this.

To not even consider his opinion & the opinion of many viewers so quickly and so defensively shows that she is putting money b4 her children. I interpret his message as "hey this is my experience and im just letting u know maybe you should consider it and the fact that many many people view this as exploitation and you continuing to blow it off like nothing only makes ppl judge you more harshly so im reaching out to you privately to offer my perspective in the hopes you take it seriously for both your kids and how others perceive you" Clearly shes been told it many times before by viewers and that hasnt stopped her so he was trying to privately reach out to her. Did he need to phrase it in a way where he called her a clown? No, but, so many people have tried reaching her in different ways and shes clearly not receptive to any method so he made it concise and to the point, people think you look like a clown bc you continue to exploit your kids publicly, then deny it publicly, and refuse to accept the truth and everyone sees right thru it. She rly thinks shes getting away with it but hes letting her know it will catch up to her. Also what mom has the time to argue with strangers on the internet like that? She went on a tangent and even said shed been arguing w ppl all day. Shed rather argue w strangers defensively instead of consider their opinion for even a moment. This is not how mature adults act. The fact she was so cruel to an ab* victim, and comparative to her he is a child imo. He was pretty gentle in his approach and she flew off the handle then tried to backpedal. Couple that with the exploitation, the fact she could be so cruel so easily to him, the fact she admits to arguing w others all day, and many other factors involved, it shows a scary picture of her behavior and values and emotional maturity. If this is how she acts with Chad, how does she behave behind closed doors w her impressionabke children that just want their moms love and validation?

@@Hmclaughs Chad is so much better than me with the back and forth. I’m just irritated. At the whole situation. It’d be different if strangers had off the wall comments about her approach in parenting and showing it online, but the fact that it’s very collective like “hey we really don’t think you should be sharing all that” like it’s common table manners like hello?? Has she ever heard of boundaries and self respect and self disclosure? Apparently not, anything for dumb views. If that was my mom, I’d go no contact after turning 18. And I’ll be happily go on different podcast to shame her for the estranged relationship she caused. Big f out of here lol

People also don't realize that adult children can still be abused and controlled even if they aren't living at home anymore. That guilt and feeling of obligation doesn't go away once you turn 18..it doesn't even go away when you marry or have a family..it doesn't go away until you are ready to open your eyes to the abuse and manipulation and stop it. Look at the Duggar kids..so many of the girls were under their dad's control well after they got married and had kids and it really isn't until recently that many have started to speak out and dissociate themselves from him. Her saying her adult daughters still make videos with her means nothing if they feel coherenced or obligated to make them.

Why would she show more messages that just make her look even worse lmao 💀 the only way someone would feel attacked is if it hit a little too close to home. Parents will say "my kids want to be in my videos" but they don't understand that as a parent, they have total authority over their children and their children want to please them bc every kid wants to make their parents happy and proud. No one should put their kid in that situation to begin with!!!! It's that simple.

But yall also need to try and put yourself in her shoes where this man literally called her a clown and was saying that’s she’s doing similar things a child abuser has done… two wrongs don’t make a right. The evidence she provided is also something people are overlooking. Her older children don’t have any issues how she treated them. I’m not for family channels at all and the government needs to step in to keep these children safe. But y’all are dragging this woman when she was just minding her own business. Chad could have brought his concerns up in a more respectful/better way, and her response to the situation was just rude and disrespectful. She deserves some of the criticism for how she reacted tho.

What she said was awful but I understand why she’s so defensive. Imagine a child messages you accusing you of acting like his mom who was arrested for child abuse. How would you react? Maybe it's nothing because i don't watch family vlog channels and dont how the family functions, but if a survivor of abuse is calling out your behavior in family vlogs, he's basically telling and predicting your downfall. And that reply *was fucking awful* and absolutely *disgusting.* In matter of fact this is the start of her downfall and its gonna spiral even more out of control if she doesn't get her head out of her gaping hole.

It's understandable to feel sad for the boy, but it's important to avoid making accusations without solid evidence. Some family channels do a great job of sharing their lives without exploiting their children. I've seen some of the videos with his mother, and she was clearly struggling very early on. I think there should be a rule that kids can't be on screen for more than five minutes. Showing kids crying or being punished should be done in private, but sharing happy moments is fine with me.
