20:59 this is exactly what I've wanted to express about age gap relationships - some people act as if a switch is flipped when a person hits 18, and that it immediately dissolves all the boundaries built into dating anyone even a day younger. That 25-year-old is still half your age, Leo, and it's STILL CREEPY
@SofiaAgnew

Yess like for example in my country the age of consent is 15, and that’s the only cut off so as soon as you turn that age you can LEGALLY be with anyone but then morality also comes into play and it’s disgusting and shocking that some people just don’t have that moral compass
@AmeliaCelestina
@AmeliaCelestina 5 күн бұрын
Exactly no 24 or 25 year old has any business in dating an 18/19 year old. Being friends is way different than a romantic relationship. Friendships with age gaps are perfectly fine its normal but relationships with age gaps are a no no and its way different.
@-_-NannO_-
@-_-NannO_- 5 күн бұрын
Yeah some age gaps are acceptable however. I don't see a problem with 18 and 20 or 18 and 22 but anything over that becomes overkill area. 25 and 32 are more acceptable than 18 and 25. Feel like there's nuances tbh.
@-_-NannO_-
@-_-NannO_- 5 күн бұрын
@DapperRat-d4w Yeah, no, I'm aware. Their relationship was morally horrible and ethically questionable, Zach's and Indiana's for sure was not it. I primarily meant 18 yos meeting someone as 18 who are like 2-4 years older like 20 or 22. Or someone 25 being with someone 32 is different, often more acceptable than someone 18 being with someone 25. Because of maturity levels and whatnot. There's just nuance to it rather than "all age gaps are bad"

my gripe with the "tara yummy theme song" is that it is yummy by ayesha erotica, and tara has put ayesha's lyrics on merch and other things when it doesn't belong to her. i'm guessing most people who hear that song assume it's tara's when its not, and ayesha barely gets recognised or paid for her music despite so much of her discography going viral every few weeks. she doesn't even earn money from it as other people try to reupload and copyright her music constantly. idk id just feel upset if my song was known as someone elses theme song, and they were profiting from it while i was getting nothing for it her other song was a feature in 6arelyhuman's remix of faster n harder and tbh i thought her lyrics were lazy and quite uninspired. part of them were taking from 6arely's existing lyrics, and her flow was verrry similar to ayesha's (particularly in "for the girls") and her verse was only 30 seconds

21:04 finally someone said it. Like 18 year olds are still teenagers and there’s barely a maturity difference between a 18 y/o and 17 y/o. The truth is if the age of consent were lower the people in their mid 20s, 30s+ that go after 18 y/os would take advantage of that and go after people even younger. 16 is a post pubescent person tho. Once ur a girl in ur late teens you are fully done with puberty. 16/19 is a young adult. However ppl who go lower than that are weird. I live in a european country where it's 14 and most people still never do these things bcs most ppl are not monsters and lots of them are aware that it is immoral. I would also agree immediately that early teens is still a kid. But early and late teens are not the same. There is a huge difference between a 16 yr old and a 13 yr old, or between a 17 yr old and a 14 yr old. Ppl make it seem like it's all the same just bcs it technically has teen in its name, when we all know there is a difference between a pubescent vs post pubescent young person

My ex wife met me when I was 18 and she was 28.. when I finally broke it off she tried to say that I manipulated and abused her like she didn’t lie to me about multiple things that I expressed was important, ignored and disregarded my safety when it came to her comfort or her straight up not thinking about it, and her pressuring me to do certain things and when I didn’t she panicked that I wanted to leave her for a man to the point where a therapist had to tell her multiple times like I did that it was probably my medication and dysphoria. Can’t even recognize her as someone I use to love after the things she said to me. Funnily enough, she inadvertently admitted multiple times that she thought of me as a child while making fun of me “trying to be grown” for wanting to divorce her lmao. I’m 22 years old. I left home at 18 and had to help her pay off her debt, get a drivers license, look for an apartment, get a credit card, and start saving money in an account 😭 I was her damn mother at that point. And especially when she told Jake to get a T tattoo for her and he was very serious and upset about it. I think the entire group has their bad sides (like every average human). If you compare videos from when Tara was 18 to the present (23) you can see a big difference. What I dislike most about fans or haters thoughts is that they specifically made these people famous and then get angry when they realize they are human. In no way do I stand with what they’ve done but the people critizing them are no saints as well. It’s a messy situation and I really believe they let fame get to their heads. Okay so for some context, I remember watching Johnnie around 2016-2017 when he was in MDE. The drama there was crazyy( I recomend going down the rabbit hole). MDE was a collab channel with seven people, 6 of which ware between the ages of 16-19 I think and one grown ass adult Brian Star. He was 26 I think, also can a career interviewing emo bands before MDE. So I dunno how much I remember but pretty much I think most of them ware living together in an apartment, I'm pretty sure all the money was going to Brian and he was maybe acting like their manager or something. They had a blow out fight I think , people started leaving and at the end it was Brian, Johnny and his then gf Alex on a couch explaining everything. At some point Brian locked everyone out of the yt channel and tried rebranding it with a different group of teens , and the og mde tried making a change on their own but it didn't last long( I think it was just growing up and having different goals). Also fun fact Johnnie was being shipped with one of the other boys named kyle( their ship name was kohnnie) so he's been on the queer baiting grind since day onee. Yeah 2016 emo youtube was fucking crackk.

Grooming is such an insidious, complex thing, and if your first relationships are toxic like this, it's hard to know what's normal and what's not. I was groomed and even a decade later, I find myself still making excuses for him and new ways to blame myself for wanting love and attention. I think of it like black mould, you can paint over it and pretend it's all fine but at a certain point it seeps through and you start to realise you've been breathing in all these toxic spores for years. I wouldn't be surprised if, in time, that young woman is able to properly reflect and subtract the blame and shame she feels and place it where it belongs, on the shoulders of the person who was an adult at the time.

IN MY OPINION, Tara getting hated on is for the most part not deserved, the argument of her interrupting Alyssa while she was talking about her struggles with depression was during a drunk episode. they had since talked about it on the podcast and neither held ill will. Tara blew up quickly and has been put in the spotlight, it wasn't an easy thing. Tara also recognizes that she can interrupt and tries not to. And people who harrassed her for things she did as a little kid are the ones who need to grow up. (of course, i do not know her personally but it's just a little grievance of mine 💗)

i’m not engulfed in tara yummy’s content and her fandom and found her through tiktok like everyone else but i will say that she’s very obviously socialized with primarily white people her whole life and that shows heavily in her personality. she hang out with horrible people and from what i see, it’s bc although she’s a poc, she has a lot of the privileges that these white men have. i’ve seen clips of her saying she hates her last name bc it was too “ethnic”. the way she acts around other women when they’re being berated says a lot about her. and the way she allows other guys to make fun of her also shows what she thinks is acceptable and what’s not. she doesn’t seem to be an inherently bad person but her morals are definitely questionable.

I stopped watching them when in Jake's cruise vlog, Tara was tispy or drunk and started doing grabby hands and going "Uppies uppies uppies! Johnnie will you carry me to dinner!" It was too weird for me to keep watching the video. I watched Tara's cruise vlog, and she was much more chill. I think she was playing it up for his vlog, but it's still really weird! Another thing that made me stop watching, is even though I like their videos trying weird stuff, I grew up pretty poor. Target is expensive to me. Them spending on so much food and random things they don't need other for the videos makes me kinda mad when they don't need to! It's wasteful.

It’s insane how everyone suddenly hates them now. As a fan of all of them I also do have to admit the fandom is RANK they’re either 10 year olds that think they’re funny or 40 year old women that infantalize them 😭 I made the “ you look like the type of guy to have a green mist following you around “ on Jake’s TikTok and the AMOUNT OF PEOPLE OFFENDED saying stuff like “don’t talk about my man my precious Jake like that” is actually insane.
