It happend few times before just without tears and each time she was open about how she felt about that. She seems like a very soft, kind person and comments and being in the public eye gets to her. Victimization isn’t dependent on whether or not the person *feels* like a victim. There is proof of them being flirtatious before she was legal, and in any case, to build such a close emotional bond with someone underage and immediately jump into a relationship the second they turn legal is wrong. It is very common for victims of grooming to not understand how they were groomed or taken advantage of until way way later. It took me years before I looked back at my situation and realized what it actually was. It can take people decades. Just because she says she isn’t a victim doesn’t make it so.

If you see the word victim as a defining statement I cannot correct that way of thinking for you. It is a word. If she was she was, that doesn’t make it her personality or her defining trait. Again, you don’t have to think what you went through was traumatic or believe it was wrong for it to be wrong. Me talking to and being groomed by adult men at 14/15/16+ didn’t seem wrong to me at the time and I would’ve denied it tooth and nail and did for many years. That doesn’t mean it was. You are wrong. Just because someone says they aren’t a victim doesn’t make it so. The situation is what it is and her or your feelings don’t change that. It’s harmful because she has an audience. It is not okay. What happened between them is not okay.
