I love the idea of upgrading the emergency blanket and the orange bandana with duck tape and gromet on the corrners. Love it. I think I am going to get an SOL emergency blanket and do the same as well with my orange bandana's I already have. As for my comments on your kit, I like the idea from others, I would add an emergency whistle, and a signal mirror. As for your boo boo kit I might add a tourniquet. What ever the survival may be, a car accedent or just wandered and got lost, I personally feel it's a good idea to have a tourniquet. Great video.

Thank you and the grommets make it more versatile and easier to use. The mini Silva has a mirror and I added a whistle. Tourniquet is a great suggestion and I have at least one in all my other kits. I really appreciate you watching and for you excellent suggestions.

Good morning from Barren County, KY Looks like a very well thought out kit, thanks for sharing it. One thing I like to put in my kits is bug repellent. You can get small bottles of Deep Woods Off or Repel, Repel even makes wipes. I also keep a big can of Sawyer Products Premium Permethrin Insect Repellent Aerosol Spray in my vehicle. This way if I am forced to abandon my vehicle and have to leave on foot, I can spray my clothing, tents, sleeping bags, and other outdoor gear. Sawyer Permethrin repels or kills disease-spreading ticks (Lyme disease), mosquitoes (West Nile and Zika viruses) and more than 55 other kinds of insects.

Good morning from Perry County. I keep bug repellent in my bug out bag and I recently picked up some of the Sawyer permethrin to treat all of my outdoor clothing and gear. Thank you for the great suggestions and I really appreciate you watching and commenting!

@@KYPrepper5 You're welcome my friend. One of the other items I thew in my kit are some individually wrapped hard candy. (life savers) They help to keep your mouth moist while walking, and the added sugar helps give you emergy.

Nice kit! I have one very similar, I agree with the SOL emergency blanket. I have instant coffee in mine as well as Clif bars

Thank you and the SOL blankets are the way to go for sure. That is a tip I picked up from Buckeye Bushcraft and I have a video showing how I modified mine and you can see where I opened up one of the cheap ones and there was a large area that was nothing but clear plastic. I would add a few tea/coffee bags in a ziplock bag. A hot beverage would go good around my fire at night and in the morning.

Well thought out, add a small emergency whistle for signaling & location & one of those basic ponchos that you can pick up for a couple of bucks & your set! Thanks for sharing!

impressive kit covers everythink you need in a small pack .lightweight so easy to use on the move .you hav,nt skimped so descent tools that will last i will have to look at my kit now. Never realised until now you can scale it down that small without compromising on quality greay video thanks for sharing👍

Check out the hydroBlu Sidekick filter straw or the Aquamira Frontier Straw, I think either will fit . Some aluminum foil would also be helpful.

You've got to be the first person I've come across that like myself are not a fan of the Altoids tin. I won't go into details of why this is the case.😅 lot of good ideas of how you put together your kit, I like to carry a small Speedy Sharp but other than that I wouldn't add much to it.

So you have to mess with your knife everytime you take a drink? That survival kit tin knife is very close to one ove been making for about twenty years.

Actually the bottle can be removed easily because the knife is between the carrier and the cup and would probably be transferred to my belt anyway if I didn't already have one on my belt.

@@KYPrepper5Actually, the sheath for the Mora Companion is designed to attach to a button on a Swedish military shirt. But I’d hang my Survival Whistle around my neck before I’d go into the Woods. One bad twisted ankle and you’re looking to park it for the night. And you may just have to wrap yourself up in the SOL and park it where you are.

Just me- I'd as soon take the saw blade saw and square off the spine on it for use as a scaper for a ferro rod or DOANS bar than risk my irreplaceable knife when I'm in bfe somewhere. I'd use my knife only for an absolute last resort for anything other than cutting chores

I have no problem using the spine of my knife for a ferro rod or making scrapings. I also have two different ferro rod scrapers in this kit. I am not a fan of battoning my knife when nature provides plenty of kindling and I agree with you about using the cutting edge for cutting tasks. Not going to use my knife as a pry bar either and risk the tip. I really appreciate you watching and commenting!
