Has to be the coolest thing a person can do is be a blood biker... legend
@dave120v6 жыл бұрын
It all depends on whether the group are given exemptions from the police and what region your working in. For us we can use the blues and twos only when authorised by the hospital . In those circumstances we can use them, but we currently cannot pass red lights, we must switch of blue lights and sirens till we have cleared the lights, but we can use them at normal junctions and roundabouts to make progress. I suspect as I said different areas different rules
@ikarlhd13 жыл бұрын
Yep all different as you say, in NI our BBs can pass red signals!

Hmm. Not sure I would do that ride any slower without the Blues and Twos to be honest

So you CAN run blue lights and sirens as a blood biker, providing you have done a course that permits it?

Someone is using a European two tone

It's the hi-lo on the whelen gamma 2 (which is American). There is an American and European like one, this is intended to make it more popular over here!

That's unless its Devon and Cornwall police,one particular officer isn't a fan of blood bikes or organ transplant vehicles using blue lights.

Lets hope that particular officer is never in need or emergency blood or any other service offered by these people!

I live in Cornwall and it pisses me off watching the blood bikers being pressured by everyone to get there on time but still having to wait at red lights... Hoping that law gets changed soon
@beano64524 жыл бұрын
Do blood bikes have the right to break speed limits? Genuine question.
@stevemarvin17233 жыл бұрын
No, The journeys they do are urgent, not emergency. The use of blue lights and sirens is for emergencies so in theory BBs using them could in fact be breaking the law.
@MrHotshot19953 жыл бұрын
yes they can if indeed its an emergency blood request they can use the lights and sirens giving them the same powers as any other emergency vehicle. I believe the reason they were not speeding in this clip is because by the looks of it is a refresher course for one of the riders.
@MrHotshot19953 жыл бұрын
A Blood Bike fits into this category. They are permitted to exceed the speed limit and treat red lights as a give way f on an emergency call. In this case it was deemed an emergency by the Hospital.

Not nitpicking, but... who's kidding, I *am* nitpicking. 1. Damp roads and you are consistently riding down the "dry line" in the centre of the lane. That's because all the oil and dirt and tyre particles collect there and repel water. Never ride there, always in the wheel track either side. Not just you, a lot do it. 2. 1:37 you turn off the siren before passing a stationary bus - you'd never see a passenger getting off and running out from in front of it. Should have had siren on and be dominating in the opposing lane, not just edging over the line, while also checking the oncoming car for a react.
