Don't mind me, this multitasking thing is harder than I expected. Here is my quick first impression on the Exedy Stage 2 Clutch, Exedy lightweight 8.9lb Flywheel combo on the 8th Gen civic Si. Comment, Like, subscribe! Enjoy!

I'm just at the end of an Exedy stage 2 4-puck with ACT Streetlite flywheel. I LOVE this setup. Super-light pedal, immediate grab-and-go engagement. No noise that anyone has ever noticed. This is on a DC2 Integra though. My power has now increased beyond its rating so I'm fearfully shopping for an upgrade. My 2 cents.

I read something online that the flywheel needs to be balanced specific to the car or something like that. I'm kind of afraid to go aftermarket flywheel. I may just go every stage 1 and get my stock flywheel resurfaced and balanced. Probably best. Saw that the hyper racing clutch master cylinder makes all the difference as well. You could probably try upgrading your stock one in the future to give you a better clutch engagement.

If you’re racing then maybe that’ll be something to think about, but if the flywheel is made for your car and you dd drive it, it should be fine. Installed mine on my car and it seems like it’s gonna be fun at certain speeds while cruising. Definitely gotta relearn shifting though.

The noise is probably just ‘chatter’ from the friction between plate and flywheel - stg2 is full faced? The rpm’s moving quicker is due to the flywheel being lighter… tricky to get used to, it’s tough when your just ‘normal’ driving because you essentially have to quick shift no matter what or go slow and rev match when you upshift

It's supposed to be 1000 miles minimum for breaki in period

How’s the clutch feel? Is it comparable to the exedy stage 1 “sporty feel”? I’m also k20/24 making 284/206. I saw you said stage 1 will be great and I have the exedy stage 1 in my si coupe FBO 3yrs no problem and still holding strong

Hey, I actually ended up stage 2 with a heavier duty pressure plate. I had too much power lol Ended up selling the car to a buddy of mine tho I went with action clutch and still holding strong.

The Exedy stg1 is more than enough clutch to handle 250-300whp on a N/A Honda, it’s the best, especially if you DD your car this clutch is perfect. The stg2 isn’t necessary unless your going boosted

I just bought a 97 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST with the rebuilt engine lightweight flywheel stage 2 clutch. I don't know anything about this but I haven't driven a lot of V speeds either everything you say sounds like my car. You have to give it a lot of gas huh just like I do or it won't go it stutters do you have to push your clutch all the way to the floor to? Mine won't even shift gears unless it's pressed all the way to the floor

Did your car vibrate in idle ? Like being out of gear parked but then stop once your gear or giving it gas ?

Jxvierrr like chatter!? 👀....nope the car is just slightly louder but that just might be my exhaust...but you do feel some vibration taking off if you don't put enough gas at least 2K

Stan's FA5 i hear the chatter now that you say it lol. But my car vibrates at idle until i give it gas. Even if its just to 1k but yeah same if i dont give it enough gas. Your car is tuned though right ?

how many hp/ tq you got ? i am looking to change my clutch but wondering if should go for stage 1 or 2 Got k24/k20 with an out put of 295 hp and 200 ft.lb torque

lifenz1 With the KW kit I should be around 350-400whp and about 240 wtq after I'm done tuning...and I'm on a stage 2...but with your setup, a stage 1 should be enough because I think a stage one can hold up to 210-220 wtq what Company you're thinking of going with?

ill be going with exedy, i guess they are the best clutch manufacturer. Will give stage 1 a try. hope things will be fine. now i have competition clutch stage 4, but it slipping after 5000 miles only.

lifenz1 same here, I went with Exedy because it had the best feedback from people who switched over...and I'm pretty sure they make the oem clutch for hondas and most other cars as well, so I didn't even think twice buying from them, and I've been good ever since. You'll be ok with them

@@lifenz1 the Exedy stg1 should be fine for your car, maybe contact Exedy and see what they reccomend, maybe stg2 but I think you’ll be good… probably should get a lighter flywheel as well

I have a exedy stage two. When I press the clutch in it rattles is that normal some people say it is others say no. ???

Stage 2 clutch with chatter? Sounds normal, but when does it rattle ? Lots of upgraded clutches (stage 2+) and lighter flywheels, make noise/ gear rattle/ chatter

EM1 king it honestly depends on your application. I got mine for weight reduction and also to get up to the higher rpm's quick than stock. Stock= 15lbs I think. Exedy lightweight=8.9lbs...for me yes, it's worth it.

Stan's FA5 yeah but you lose torque. You know 4 cylinders dont have a whole lot of torque to begin with and we need all we can get.

modes on my fa5: air dynamics Sri. obx tri y header. obx cat-back. flashpro on base maps. also have a set of drag cartel dic cams.

Haha that's true but I do a lot of road racing, so I'm more in the higher rpm's, and I have a Kraftwerks kit, when I'm up in the power band it's horsepower at that point that takes over. So I figured I'll take the loss in some torque, being that I don't really go from a dig.

EM1 king I have skunk2 alpha header, invidious q300 catback, and the KW kit. Was going to go the all motor rout bought a CAI and everything, deck to go booted instead. Definitely all Motor if I get bored with the supercharger...I doubt I will tho. Lol

my brother has a car like this with same clutch and it really sucks horrible daily driver like that gotta rev to high or it chatters and hitts hard lol just horrible nothing better than stock
