Great video I gotta admit I have the same Evinrude 9.9 now 15hp your earlier videos helped me when I was struggling and I still have it now serviceable still and running 1979 strike power 😝

Thank you for making a video on this ,I did get my pinion bearing back in,took a socket,same sized as the bearing tapped it down I place, assuming it only goes in so far ,I installed the gear case,fired it up,went thru the gears,all seemed well, first time I've ever messed with a newer style gear case,the pre 75 or so gear case's are much easier to service

The lower bearing can go straight through; hopefully it's back in the right spot.

@@BrandonsGarage I wasn't aware of that, until I watched your video,I tapped it down until it stopped/felt seated,put all back together,it seemed to function properly,give me a 50-70's Johnson/evinrude gear case to fix ,the newer style ones are definitely harder to service,this was a learning experience

Glad to see more videos Brandon....I have learned a crap ton of knowledge since I found your channel. I've got a 74 Starcraft Holiday 18 w/a 1976 Evinrude 115hp, lower unit was letting h20 in so I resealed it with a new impeller kit. Now im rebuilding the carbs & fuel pump. I never knew about fuel line zip ties either so I ordered some in bulk im gonna use with my Harbor Freight zip tie gun. Awesome content 👏 keep em coming!

One idea would be to hope somebody on eBay is doing international shipping. I found some rare OMC parts on eBay because some of the sellers went in and bought out the stuff at the factory warehouses when they closed. The international shipping is the hard part, but many sellers have it turned on in their listing/accounts.
