You won’t be disappointed! It’s a great antenna, especially for the higher bands where you should get some good gain at lower takeoff angles.

The Rybakov is one of my favorite Portable antennas. I used it with elevated radials with good success.

having fun with a antenna you built. that was a good day. glade you know the E-tune on 7300 drop to 1/2 power max. I have done that with 9:1 . 6 meters usually open in summer but can open any time day or night. I made mono band QRO 49:1 end fed half wave for 10/11/12 meters with a fold back at end for the 3 bands. ran veritable with ground plain with DX commander pole works super at 100 watts, I ran KW on 2 stack of FT 240-61 and cores stay cool. I made a single stack of 61 core for 6 meters. super good match. I did one with 43 mix and cut mono band 15 meters and 17 as 20 meters . all work great. longer wire I run as slope config. I do have wire cut 66 ft for 40/20/10 meters. works great but on 20/10 meters the mono band cut is better . I drill small hole in carabiner and slip on end of pole. love that Dingus Coffee and ham radio made. I made my 8X coax choke with a FT 240-43 mix still works great. I think the 31 mix has higher common mode rejection. the Ugly Balun works with 8X as well just needs more turns because of just a air coil. still any choke is better then none. what I have found portable. ABC Always Be Choking . for portable, 73's

Do you think that having the matching unit that close to the car would effect the tuning capabilities?

I don’t understand much of this video. It looks cumbersome and complicated. Just got my call sign: I’ll do UV-5R kind of stuff for now! 😅

Congrats on getting your call sign! This antenna was a kit build based off of a Rybakov antenna. It is a random wire, which is designed to not be resonant on any band. That is why it requires a tuner, but it also allows for the antenna to easily work on different bands. With it's unique length and vertical setup, it also has good gain and takeoff angles for DX on the higher bands. I hope that helps explain it a little better. Congrats again and take your time to enjoy the hobby. There's always so much to explore with ham radio.
