I am having trouble with mixed grip any tips? I have to move my arm further. If its normal shoulder width apart i get shoulder discomfort and when i open it further the balance is off.
@joederbyshire_
@joederbyshire_ 6 ай бұрын
have you tried hook grip? sounds like mixed probably isn’t the grip youll be comfortable pulling with. hook should stop the shoulder discomfort and help you feel more balanced, albeit with the downside of it being hook grip 😂 poor poor thumbs

Sorry if any of this is redundant advice to you: I suggest keep training mixed grip but at low weights until it's comfortable (like really low, purely to work on micro-adjustments and letting your body adapt - maybe 2-3 sessions is plenty if done well); work on getting everything set and tight (rotating arms, pull slack out, tight core, lats pulled down etc); and do more work for your shoulders overall to make them stronger, more mobile, and better able to resist the downward pull experienced in deadlift.

Being generally tighter (even wrists) lets your CNS drive harder.
@Rhop
@Rhop 6 ай бұрын
For some it's just for comfort, but some will also make a tight fist and then wrap their wrists really tight (below the joint) to compress the nerves and make it more difficult for their hand to open, somewhat reducing the risk of dropping the deadlift.

Imdo you find doin bent rows that way more beneficial then how most people do them bent over judt far enough that the bar is just to the top of the knees.
@MHB30
@MHB30 6 ай бұрын
I just enjoy doing them this way more. I’m of the opinion, whether you train them the way I do, or traditional bent over rows, the difference probably doesn’t matter. As long as you are training them hard and progressively overloading, you’ll get very similar results.
