You should talk to Mitchell hooper about recovering from injury, he seems to have the most unconventional methods but has always recovered pretty fast from injury, tore his hamstring mid august and was back to squatting and deadlifting normally by early September

@@germanrud9904 Mitch tore his hamstring then went straight back into to squatting and deadlifting as part of his recovery, John injured his glute and now wants to stop squatting and deadlifting as part of his recovery. Because of your quad and glute injuries starting to stack up are you considering changing your squat style to reduce the distance between your knees and hips from the bar? Or do you have a different plan? I’d hate to see the injuries get so frequent that you get taken out of the sport in a few more years

Hi John excellent video I have an addiction to lifting too heavy which always leaves me injured with strains...etc I understand that the majority of your training involved moderate rep ranges from 3-8. If I am not s powerlifter, should the majority/all of my training be in these higher rep ranges since I never need to peek for a meet? Curious to find out more if you could point me in the right direction! Take care man

First and foremost do what you love doing. I tried doing high volume bodybuilding and in the end that made me quit gym for multiple months. Look up Mike Mentzer heavy duty and Dorian Yates high intensity training. They recommend heavy weights to failure in 6-10 rep range.

Do you think you that given how well your squat performed during the meet that, from a programming perspective, you would be better off taking your last heavy squat day further out even if you aren't injured? Obviously not to the same extent as you were forced to during this prep but do you feel there's anything to your squat responding better to having more rest than usual before a meet?

6:45 Heaviest deadlift by a woman was 700lbs (318kg) by Lucy Underdown (With straps). Andrea Thompson has the record for the hummer tire deadlift (Higher pull) at 800lbs. Brianny and Samantha probably have the record for heaviest deadlift completely raw though, obviously still insanely impressive.
