My mom wouldn't buy me a tamagotchi back in the day, too expensive for us. My friends all had one though, so I was basically known as a tamagotchi babysitter because all my classmates would leave their tamagotchis with me during lunch time. And I freaking loved it.

mine is still alive after like 10 years or more, the battery keeps dieing then I forget about it and find it like a year later put in new battery's and carrying on until they go again and it's just been a massive cycle for most of my childhood/ young adult life. although occasionally it dies of old age and reincarnates but I've never actually killed it

I used to love these when younger. Now I am 31 and I bought myself a tamgotchi he is so cute. to me hes like my baby. Some people might think its weird an adult has one but why not. its really cute.

That would be a Connection version 4.5 with the star. It has a Japanese version with blue pixels called the Uratama. Both are fun and can connect, just not marry. (Jan Griffiths).

I really love how Tara is really into her game lol! Like shes keep repeating her ‘gatchi’ and also shes snapping all her moments with her gatchi. That’s so cool. While the others having difficult time taking care of their tamagotchi

You guys should really check out the Japanese Tamagotchi releases. They’re in color and there’s lots of new cool activities. You can decorate their house and even buy them clothes 👾

It only came in the fourth generation or something so it really isn't something they would know when i barely know about it and i'm only 19 and i agree with Rodeth Icong about it ruining the tamagotchi and to me it's one of the main reasons i lost interest when i was young

That was my reaction! It turns out that there isn't exactly a pause button on these ones, but they do have a daycare option which has the same function of the pause button (allows you to leave the tamagotchi alone for as long as you want). These people were just too lazy to read the instructions...

My aunt bought me two tamagotchi's when i was little. The musician one( your tamagotchi could have a band) and the family one( 3 tamagotchi at once to take care of) and only one tamagotchi ever died. I had went on vacation and forgot my tamagotchi at home..

Kind of wondering how they would've reacted to taking care of the actual new Tamagotchi models instead of the 20th anniversary P1 rerelease. Bigger shells, color screens, better games, more interaction, genetic mixing, cut scenes, daycare and babysitting modes, holiday celebrations, etc. They only went away in the west but they're still going strong in Japan.

Taking care of a tomogatchi was like having a cell phone as far as having a distraction. Like, you take it everywhere you go and always have it in the back of your mind and always have it to play with at any moment and it's an ongoing, evolving thing ya know. It was so awesome in the 90's! My mom got me one for like a dollar and it apparently had like over 200 you could choose from in that one little egg but I could never figure out how to use it and it was so cheap. I'd rather have one tomogatchi or choose from just a few and take care of it that way. 🙆🏼

I didn’t know these still existed! Oh, the memories. I had the Little Mermaid one, the alien Tamagotchi, the Pikachu thing that you had to shake. I think we also had a Jurassic park dinosaur Tamagotchi from Universal theme park.

My wife has quite a few Japanese tamas; Uratama, Entama, Akai Keitai, Ketai, and a +color, ID, IDL, Spacy, Melody, and 20th anni Mixes. She like the Japanese versions much better, even if she dosen't read/speak the language.

Every actual tamagotchi collector is going to cringe at all these new videos regarding the 2017 release of a 2004 mini and people thinking it's the same as the 90's version, as well as not knowing that tamagotchi never went anywhere and has new releases every year, lol.

Ikr? Tamas are much more popular over in Japan, and that's where most of the tama action has been in regards to the evolution of tamas. My wife has many Japanese ones in her collection.

One thing people have to remember--these new tamagotchis are NOT a reboot of the p1/p2 versions released in the 90s. They are a reboot of the tamagotchi mini/chibi released in 2005. No game or check meter is on this version. My wife has a tamagotchi collection with many different versions; some in color and Japanese language. She also has her 1996/1997 original tamas too.

My mom bought me a tamagotchi for our plane trip to Boston. I was so excited and enjoyed the little guy but sadly I lost him in Boston and I was deviated. I just now bought a new one the fancy “Gen 2” ones. It can play now too. Pretty cool 😎

I got the Japanese one. It is in hiragana bit it was super easy to learn and it is in color and you can play tens of games and dress them up. It's worth it.
