Kevin uncovers more historical evidence on this 917 by grinding away layers of paint on the roof and nose. Thanks to Rick Wilson, www.maisonblanche.co.uk for your favorite hat!

Hats off to you guys for this epic rebuild and probably the best thing I have seen on teh interbutts and youtube definately in a long time simply awesome that you have taken the time to do these videos of such an awesome car. Only comment so far, is about this video but from my French lessons, "maison" is actually pronounced "May-zon" Epic rebuild guys

Very interesting to see the progression in strategies from 40 years ago. Now the bodywork on most prototypes can be changed out in a matter of seconds. Back then, it was largely molded in, other than the bonnet/decklid I guess. As a recent owner of a same-era Porsche 914, and a big fan of Gunnar's racing exploits in the ALMS, I think its pretty cool you take the time to show us your trade Kevin. Is there any possibility someone who's interested in this stuff could tour your shop to learn more?

You film this with a digital still camera? Its a bit jumpy. But thanks for the videos.

how do you know the yellow was the original colour, how do you know that when it went for a re-spray the painter sanded it down then resprayed it?
