This was soo great!!Yaani... at times there's so much expected from this woman of this generation from the families we are married into yet at the same time there's a thick line between our mother's generation and ours.. Reconciling these two generations is NOT so easy for a woman in this generation..they should be KIND.. Good in-laws integrate the new member (that includes the husband and the wife) by extending grace..we all do things differently and had different experiences from our families, Which has entirely shaped our beliefs and values, and learning takes time..killing expectation from both families and being kind goes a long way ✌️..I know of in-laws who would not communicate what is expected and if you don't do mwana utasengenywa, and you become the topic of discussion till eternity for something that doesn't count..🤣🤣

Wewe me when I got married hapo ndo nilijua si jui my mother inlaw together with my father in-law walikuwa wanakuja 10usubui hadi usiku the first time I thought were it's ok lakini sasa in a week they would came like 5days in a week you have to make breakfast, lunch, dinner for them saizo kwa nyumba mins struggle financially wewe na bado wanataka pesa wewe sasa I used to wake up early nafanya Kazi kwa nyumba na toka unapigiwa simu uko wapi tuko apa inje ya gate me I just answer siuko karibu wewe mimi Aki vitu zingine Jehovah........

I relate with this conversation in so many levels. On the money part, I think most of us were misguided. I have come to the conclusion that it is better for spouses to deal with their own families when it comes to money, otherwise your inlaws may resent you and yet you are innocent. Great session Margie and Soila!

This was insightful-I am in a situation where my hubby feels like I don't want his people simply cz I have put my boundaries. Also one of his relatives disrespected me in his presence and he never said a thing when I later talked to him on the side to address the issue he said I am trying to cause a rift between his people and himself. He also invites his relatives to our house without informing me..

This is insightful Maggie and Soila....the wisdom in here .. Suggestion: maybe we could here the men's perspective. Also do more of these especially for young wives like myself. For a season in my marriage, I really felt overwhelmed and defeated. Thank you for showing us the way and encouraging us If you guys have done it, we can also do it and better because of the lessons you share

I really enjoyed this conversation, the energy that Soila brings is admirable. I like your personality Soila. Margie please bring her more often to discus more other topics. Margie, the milk is maruranu…it doesn’t have things (the way you said it 🙄🙄)….it’s normal cow milk that is really boiled and added fresh lemon juice and left to ferment…also you can add fresh hot boiled milk to reduce the acidic level. This is equivalent of yoghurt for this community.

This was great Convo Margie have a question of late my mother in law makes some weird comments on my nine month baby like you have a lot weight that is why you can't move, the baby does not know her she is like you don't want me... she tells my baby mara she tells me I leave her the baby bcz I can't find a good nanny and mark you my baby is still breastfeeding, when I was due unfortunately I was operated Cs can you imagine she said it's bcz I use family planning na saa hizi I don't use any aki I was hurt. so am wondering what is her real problem... She never used to meddle on my issues before I got pregnant We are different tribes
