What does beer fermented with grapes taste like? I brewed up a standard lager and fermented it together with some Grape Concentrate from a Wine kit to create a Beer Wine Hybrid! This had some Raspberry and Hibiscus added for a bit of additional fruity flavour!
This was extremely fun to brew and a completely random experiment to see what a beer wine hybrid would end up tasting like! Watch how I ferment this with High Pressure Lager yeast (WLP925) at 15 psi, and how I manage hibiscus and raspberry secondary additions!
This is also the first time I brewed with the new Dark Farm Brew Tank! See how I got on and my thoughts on it!

I see in your new series you have a spruce beer to brew. I have brewed a spruced pale ale fermented with 34/70 and Estonian spruce tips. Very pleasant if your interested.

Great video! Fully echo your views on the brewtank, how did you find the recirc hoses? I had issues with mine kinking quite badly when hot (I’ve ordered some 21mm od silicone tubing from malt millers to try next brew).
@NikitaVorontsov
@NikitaVorontsov 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah hoses definitely went limp very quickly! I ended up using some string to tie them up without them flopping over. Curious how the malt Miller tubing will work out!

Thanks Nikita Excellent video and amazing beer, Im sure it tasted as good as it looks. Like yourself I am coming from using the Brewzilla and for some time have been looking for an adaptable system built to last. This seems to have it all with perhaps the exception of the temperature controller although i think there are options out there which could improve this. I'd be interested to know the efficiency you get from the system. Thanks again and best wishes for you and the channel, you will or should get many more subscribers. Rodger
@NikitaVorontsov
@NikitaVorontsov 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Rodger, Thanks very much! It definitely did! I agree with the temperature controller part, I’ve seen the EINBREW system in TheMaltMiller that I’d love to try out but a tad out of my price point at the moment! Just dialling in the efficiency but with this brew I got around 65% efficiency, with latest batches I’m up to around 75-80%, I think I may be able to dial that in with different crush sizes and get some more efficiency out of it! I don’t mash out, and I sparge with groundwater so that’s probably where I lose a few points!
@rodgerpaylor718
@rodgerpaylor718 2 жыл бұрын
@@NikitaVorontsov 75-80% would suit me fine. i too looked at the Einbrew and it looked really nice but as you say expensive. I spoke to Gareth today at Dark Farm and they are currently building their own temperature controller for release early next year, this should allow the use of a larger heating element although possibly with the insulation being so good on a two skin system the 2.2KW may be fine anyway, I'd be interested to know your thought on this. Maximum wort to fermenter batch size would also be interesting to know. I think that when the 40L system is back in stock i may well order
@NikitaVorontsov
@NikitaVorontsov 2 жыл бұрын
@@rodgerpaylor718 2.2kwh is definitely as you say “fine” but I’d definitely prefer a more rolling boil and quicker to heat to boiling. At the moment it’s probably taking a good 30-45mins to heat 30l from 65ish to 94 (highest I’ve gotten it to - although it does boil somewhat). Maximum wort to fermenter batch size max I’ve tried is 23L and that was with a 60min boil from around 27-28L. I reckon with a 30min boil and maybe starting from 38L or so you might be able to get a good 35L out of it, although that’s theorising as I haven’t quite tried yet!

Do you dump the trub using the collection cup? I have an All Rounder and have always wondered if it would be worth upgrading to the conical?
@NikitaVorontsov
@NikitaVorontsov 2 жыл бұрын
I don't necessarily always dump the trub thanks to the floating ball valve, but it definitely helps with clarity allowing the trub to be neatly compacted and well out of the way of accidentally being picked up! Also great for collecting yeast for re-use!
