I’d like to point out that as soon as max explained everything to goofy he understood and immediately tried to help get him on stage, he’s literally the best father you just have to talk to him.

@@TheBloobster oh yeah 100%! I'm not saying Goofy had nothing to learn, that would make for a boring movie. He was absolutely missing the mark there up front. My point was just that Max's fears about becoming his dad were assuaged by spending more time with him. I liked that.

In the cartoon "goof troop" they mention Max's mom in one episode. He asks his dad about it, and he softly says "she will always be with you. She is up there, with the stars" and then the episode ends.

Goofy & Max’s father & son relationship has always been one of the best I’ve seen in fiction, cause they’re both at fault when it comes to the problems they face when dealing with each other! Max takes his father for granted, and doesn’t recognize how lucky he is to have a father who loves him so much that he would do anything for him. Sure there is mutual love, but he doesn’t give him enough respect (which is something Pete recognizes). With Goofy, he is too attached to his son that he doesn’t want to accept that he’s growing up or respect that he needs personal boundaries in order for him to self-discover. This is what creates that degree of resentment Max can have of him at times

Yeah, those things aren't mindblowingly hard to understand. Still great thou. For some reason, surji's take on kids not having any media literacy is off-putting. Sure, plenty of reviews on kids movies you get the lame mom saying my kid was bored in seconds bad movie...but by 6-7 you can sit in a movie and understand a plot. We watch seseme street for goodness’s sake, in age 5. We learn about stealing being bad, etc. Kids aren't banging their head on the ground cause flashy colors aren't on the screen. Honestly, with all the talk about how surji hates long movies and the group is always zoning out on their phone and in some reactions falling asleep and editing it, it's the older gen that's having lower attention span. Plus all the awful reviews calling out plot holes because they didn't get everything explained or didn't pay attention (by other channels, not this one) overall media literacy is down. SAT's have people not explaining what the main topic of a thing they read seconds ago was...trust that most need to be spoon-fed plots. Tell don't show. lol.

So my theory about why there's uneducated Pluto type dogs and educated goofy type dogs is that it's like a Divergent evolution, like how we have chimpanzees and we have humans. They came from the same common ancestor, and they look kind of similar, but they're not the same species.

Disney long since explained it. Goofy is a funny animal aka can uses toon force...pluto is not, hence he has limited use of toon force and acts more like and behaves as a normal animal. Same with how the animals eat chicken and are chicken...in some toons, they dont work on the same spectrum.

Once again this is proof to me that animation, in particular disney, isn’t kid shows or kid movies. They are accessible films that let all generations see them from different perspectives. I’m tired of people seeing a G through PG13 rating and thinking it’s kids programming when in reality they can be more thought provoking and genuine regardless of if they swear or show blood. I love this movie, specifically the duet at the end. It’s so sweet and insightful to single parent households!

Hercules had gospel music because Greek plays were narrated by a choir. Having narrators that would comment on the previous scene or set up the next scene became a staple of stage plays, even Shakespeare used that troupe in his works. Its also why they had big masks, so the audience could see their emotions from far away.

I watched it pretty recently, and I honestly think it still holds up even as an adult. Sure it's got a lot of very 2000s things (the X-games being the epitome of cool, for example), but I honestly thought it did justice as a sequel. It wasn't a complete retread, they managed to create a conflict between Max and Goofy without undoing all of the character development from the first movie, it was pretty dang funny, and the villain was a delightful piece of trash.

I can’t view this movie in the same way after the Atlanta episode that was a mock documentary about the making of this movie claiming Goofy was black. Hands down, unironically, one of the best Disney movies ever put to the big screen! A singler father and his teenage son learning to effectively communicate and respect each other's differences. Both are making mistakes out of fear. Max for his fear of losing his newly attained status and potential romantic love interest, and Goofy for fear of growing apart from his son and watching him mature in a way where he won't need his father anymore. Initially, we think Goofy is afraid of Max becoming a criminal, but that anxiety being instilled in him by external sources was only the catalyst that made him make the rash decision to do the road trip without talking to Max. Goofy just wants to make sure that he and his son will continue to be a part of each other's lives. Both have to learn to communicate effectively, be honest, make compromises for, and listen to each other - out of love and mutual respect. And then you have Pete and Pete Jr. who's relationship is effective, but so unhealthy. And so many kids were raised by parents with similar views on parenting and by the end of the film, Goofy and Max exist as a contrasting example of what a healthy (while still imperfect) father/son relationship should look like, All that in a frickin' GOOFY movie. This movie is on another level. Edit: Chris and I also see Eye-2-Eye on An Extremely Goofy Movie. It has it's own merits, but it doesn't come lose to the original. 2nd Edit: It also an interesting reflection of what a relationship between a neurodivergent parent and neurotypical child could look like, and how to navigate such a relationship. Similarly to how Lilo and Stich is a reflection of a neurodivergent and neurotypical siblings between Lilo and Nani.

It is adorable that you can see how much Chris adores this movie I mean, I don’t blame him, I’ve watched it multiple times myself, though probably not as much as him lol

Mickey has a pet dog named Pluto, and Goofy is also a dog. My Dark Theory? The older Goofy/Dogs get in Disney. The more they devolve in to their more Animalistic selves. Hence why Max is smarter than his Father, because he’s still young and has his heightened intelligence. Given time, Goofy will eventually devolve into Pluto. And Mickey is always his friend because he knows one day, his fun loving friend is going to need him.

I also had a crush on Roxanne growing up because she reminded me of Topanga from Boy Meets World.

The only movies I remember that had Mickey were Fantasia (1940), Fun and Fancy-Free (1947), Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), and The Three Musketeers (2004). Donald Duck had The Three Caballeros (1944).

Underrated gem of a film Disney's dinosaur. Has one of the most horrifying depiction of a Dinosaur predator antagonist bc it's beefed up compared to it's real life counter part.

Moonwalk aside, Powerline was primarily based on Prince and Bobby Brown, the latter of which the animators studied closely when creating his dance moves.
