I kinda feel the opposite. I have loved Gomez's work for years (she's amazing in Green Wing and The Book Club) and think she pulls off being a villain brilliantly. Eric on the other hand seemed to be getting his inspiration from Jim Varney 0_o

***** It's not really her acting that bugs me, it's the writing and characterization. I wasn't overly thrilled with Robert either, especially the weird stuff the movie treated as normal like him spitting webbing or venom or whatever that stuff was. When I said better than Missy was jokingly saying his fate was better than her (not that I really think that). Mainly, what I don't care for is how guano crazy they make her, but that's something they've been doing with the character throughout the new series because RTD seemed to think making the Master super nuts was the best way to go. I also kind of hated how, in that two part finale, she built up a whole army of Cybermen but her big end game was to offer them to the Doctor and when he didn't take them she didn't seem to have a backup plan. :) I did kind of like the nods to "Return of the Living Dead" with the reanimating rain and all that.

Yeah... DW sometimes has the Stephen King problem with plots... great build up, wacky but clever idea, interesting characters, great dialogue... aaaaaand a weak-ass ending :D But for me the worst 2 parter-end episode has got to be last seasons. Totally wasted Gallifrey and Rassilon for yet another Clara goodbye episode...
