Today I built this RC airplane and almost crashed into myself repeatedly. Luckily the plane crashed in water. A camera on the plane and the monitor on my head makes it immersive when you crash too.

Så om du vill teama upp så är jag med :). Och jag har 3d designat hela saken i ett 3d program så det är bara att printa och sätta ihop. För esc, motor och batterier har jag också förslag på. that 360 camera acted as an aileron itself, by pulling up only it was pulling up from the already rolled point. Camera was a massive airbrake hehe. Awesome video, loved it!

I was also thinking: the 360 camera might be creating a lot of drag. Hard to conteract. Worst example ever: myself, when i started fliying cameras in 2012, i was doing this on top of a 2 axis Parkflyer motorglider: but of course, with heavy cameras! So... Space Shuttle glider at best, crash at worst! :) Of course, with drag, comes turbulences in front of your elevons... So. Obsly: "NOPE" :D but, still, fun to try anyway. :)

Besides, if he had placed the camera turning it 90º so it's not an airbrake poking out of the plane, he might have gotten away with it...

The 360 cam is also basically killing any lift in the area behind it (like a spoiler). The trailing edge of a flying wing acts like a horizontal stabiliser, providing stability in pitch and helping keep the nose up. The turbulence created by the 360 cam would have disrupted the effectiveness of this part of the wing, and resulted in a plane with the centre of pressure in the wrong spot to be controllable.

I'm pretty sure you could get that kind of range with a powerful enough VTX on the plane and high quality omni antennas and just standard fpv goggles (so you don't need to move your head around)

Been watching and inspired by your vids for years. Two things to note black paint is typically the heaviest paint so yes "now it's faster" getting to the ground...and I'm not sure about this but it looks like the motors are generating some EMI on your camera. You can see the variations in the lines on the video when you increase the motor speed. You might be able to reduce it with some aluminum foil provided that its video signal interference and not antenna interference. Keep up the good work.
