Contractors with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers install barrier panels along the southwest border near Columbus, N.M., at the El Paso project site. These projects are being executed by USACE, as directed through the U.S. Army by the Secretary of Defense, in response to Department of Homeland Security’s request for assistance to help secure the United States southern border by blocking drug-smuggling corridors through the construction of roads and fences, and the installation of lighting under the Title 10, section 284 of the U.S. Code. DoD and USACE are executing these projects in support of U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
The Trump wall, commonly referred to as just "the wall", is a colloquial name for a proposed expansion of the Mexico-United States barrier during the U.S. presidency of Donald Trump.Throughout his 2016 presidential campaign, Trump called for the construction of a much larger border wall, claiming that if elected, he would "build the wall and make Mexico pay for it." At the time, President of Mexico Enrique Peña Nieto said that his country would not pay for the wall
In January 2017, Trump signed Executive Order 13767, which formally directed the US government to begin attempting wall construction along the US border with Mexico using existing federal funding; actual construction did not begin at this time due to the significant expense and lack of clarity on how it would be funded. In 2018-19 the federal government was partly shut down for 35 days because of Trump's insistence that he would veto any spending bill that did not include $5.7 billion in border wall funding.In February 2019, Trump signed a declaration of National Emergency, saying that the situation at the U.S.-Mexico border is a crisis requiring money allocated for other purposes to be used to build the wall. Congress passed a joint resolution to overturn the emergency order, but Trump vetoed the resolution. In July 2019, the Supreme Court approved the reallocation of $2.5 billion in Department of Defense anti-drug funding to construct the wall while other legal proceedings continue; in September 2019, an additional $3.6 billion was diverted, this time from U.S. military construction projects around the world, including schools for children of American soldiers.
In July 2019, U.S. Customs and Border Protection confirmed that, although they had begun to replace old fencing, no new wall had yet been built.

They have been using that 66 miles of Wall built for two months. My estimate is that there is 120 plus miles of new border Wall complete and 17 crews completing a total of one mile per day.

It will be a historic event when the Wall is complete. I give great credit to the people who moved those Cactus for saving them and replanting them. Cactus are survivors in a treacherous hot desert. They survive when nothing seems survive. They are a national treasure in my opinion. Build that wall. Good work guys.

X-Man , any cheap shot at Trump is very valid. Let’s not forget in the beginning of the video , they said they are taking 3 feet and 6 feet course samples. And you’ve just given the Mexicans how many feet underground they need to dig their tunnels under this fence. Hence is the word it’s a fence not a wall! Trump has already given away all the secrets when he visited wow. Well the Corps of Engineers said they would know they’re not discuss what’s happening at the while Trump when he hadn’t did it. He told it’s made of concrete and steel he told it has sensors in it, and it has lights. It also has pointy tips on the top and it’s painted black. Guess what people have already used $150 saw to cut through the wall what the rest of it. Let’s not forget he’s just passed a law that he will pardon anybody who goes against the law to build the wall. Which means taking land from anybody living in that area, he will block waterways, and whatever else he can do. Guess what none of these people will get pardons. They just think they’re following orders from the president. And the president should have no powers whatsoever

So before a single bid is made on the wall everybody knows exactly how the wall is to be built. There were no secrets to hide. Using $150 dollars saws to easily saw through the wall is one of those inevitable myths that always seem to pop up.

"We Build the Wall" did it, under budget, under time and better than the Corps. Interviews were done with the property owners after the wall was completed and they said that they actually can continue business because the wall saved them.

I still believe that an invisible electrical fence with a frequency intolerable to the human anatomy that will shock the hell out of them, not killing them but teaching them a valuable lesson DO NOT ENTER OR ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK would have been less expensive with no man-power hands-on construction. Maybe a futuristic idea to consider in those areas of mountain terrain where physical fences cannot be easily accessed.

The wall is no good without it being manned the entire length by lookouts. You can cut thru the steel with a torch like butter. A bobcat could knock a section down easily since the footing is narrow and the steel is not buried deep enough.

This may sound cold to some people but I absolutely support everything President Trump has allegedly said according to this video & I also support everything he has Done or tried to do in regards to both enforcing our immigration policy as well as it pertains to strengthening our Border & Building a Border Wall with Mexico. It's High Time that those in Government realize that it's time to care about those of us already here & to stop giving away resources & funds that would do best to serve & help our own impoverished citizens instead of selling our entire Country down the river by providing aid packages to countries that don't much even like us nor serve our best interests. Case in Point Pakastan: During both the Bush administration's as well as the Obama administration the U.S. gave Pakastan countless Billions in Military aid to assist us in waging the war on terror & they wouldn't even allow American Troops on the ground in their Country nor would they close their Border with Afghanistan to seal off the mountain passes to prevent our guys from being attacked by the Taliban & Alquida. All the while they housed Osama Bin Laden Mastermind of the 911 attack against us diagonally across the street from 1 of their Military bases. So I use that as a leading & Primary example. In closing let's just say I like Trump & all that he has done & is doing for us & damn if it ain't about time!!! This is why he won the election in 2016 & it is why he will do so again in 2020. Though the Commycrats do crack me up with their efforts to find dirt on him worthy of Impeachment. I feel like I'm watching Wiley Coyote Vs. the Roadrunner. Trump is the Roadtunner & the Commycrats are the Coyote & every time they come up with some kind of a plan to get him they get blasted by their own Acme Rockets or hit in the head with an Anvil or they fall off a cliff only to have both of those happen upon hitting the valley floor. LMAO ROTFL

How much does a mile of light rail cost in any major American City? How much to properly maintain each mile per year? Does the revenue from the customers even come close to covering the cost? Compare the above-mentioned to the Border Wall. The many benefits include lower initial cost per mile, the absence of expensive rolling stock and lower annual maintenance costs, reduced human suffering from the drug and human trafficking industry. There's more than what one person can comment about in this limited forum.

You know that wall has some high tech built in. And I'm sure it can run some voltage in it, if you can find the hidden transformer you know it can jolt you....ha ha. They should make some areas like a US/Mex Market...then that would boost local economies .

Cost doesn't really matter, Gov't has been running deficits for decades. its not necessarily tax money they are using. All they have to do is put a number in a computer terminal somewhere in US treasury...NO inflation , no nothing. It has to do with political will. that's all.

I have to say that the privately funded border wall builders did a better job, quicker, and a much nicer looking fence. Army corp of engineers are slow and pretend to know what they are doing. But regardless of my observations, it is nice to see this work getting done.
