Welcome to the next instalment of the buddy build of the Eduard Spitfire V with Rick Lawler. In this episode I build the cockpit and add the beautiful Barracuda Studios Snapshot Upgrade. I also feature Rick's cockpit, it's very interesting to see how a dyed in the wool armour/diorama modeller tackles an aeroplane model.

I’m suprised you’ve not had an eye test in 4 years considering you’re a pilot lol , great build btw love the detail work , it’s a rabbit hole but worth it when it’s done imo

We get checked but not in depth opticians, but they keep mucking up the contract here!

Fantastic detail painting! The A-Stand Duraluminium looks really smooth. Nice to see a metallic paint that's not full of flakes. I'm trying to stick to water-based acrylics, so Vallejo Metal Colour and the new Atom metallics are my choices right now. Don't know if it's me Jamie but the volume of your commentary seemed quite low.

The two large silver cylinders on the port side behind the pilot are for the pneumatic system. They are charged to 300psi by the engine-driven air compressor and are for operating the flaps, radiator flaps, supercharger ram on applicable variants, wheel brakes and guns. The purpose of the small black cylinder opposite on the starboard side can be guessed by the letters O X Y G E N written on it ;-).

Cheers, Jamie! I’d suggest you using Gundam Marker Pen by Mr. Hobby for painting cockpit bits’n’pieces - very quick and very sharp for precision detailing
