Today we’re talking about the man who is famously known as America’s first ever serial killer- H.H. Holmes. But did he kill for money, or for fun? Living in Chicago in the mid 1800s, his dream was to get rich by any means necessary, even if that meant murdering his friends, lovers… basically everyone close to him. The little "sana-sa" at the beginning is one of those moments where you make some random inside joke around your close friends that only they'll understand, but other people overhearing it look at you like you're alien that just forgot to blend in properly.

You’ll never see this, but I listened to you during my entire pregnancy with My son in 2020. You calmed me, entertained me, made me laugh in my darkest moments. I love thé humour throughout. I’m a Doc and I’m long serving military so I’ve got a really black sense of humour which not many civvies understand. I often get weird looks for my “inappropriate humour” when I’m out & about 🙄🤦‍♀🤷‍♀ Listening to Bailey is like being around my colleagues who all share the same black humour! It’s great. I only discovered her channel a few months ago, so I’m playing catch-up with the stories. Btw Bailey love the way you do your makeup. Mine just gets slapped on in same way I slap my camo-paint on. You should look into the case of Aurore Gagnon. I'm french Canadian and her case is infamous. It's heartbreaking and disturbing but also a cautionary tale of what happens when no one steps in and speaks up when a child is being abused. Hopefully there is enough English language information out there for you to learn from. There are two French language films made about her case. My province keeps showing her movies on tv so that people will remember that cases like hers still exist today.

that wasbt odd to me. I thought it was probs that. They use them to teach human fetal development branch - embryology. I’ve read somewhere that the reason the contractors didn’t know about what some of the rooms on the second floor was, was because Holmes gave them different “maps” of what to build and also why he changed contractors so often. @@mhulley1 YES! Lol it's honestly like 2 separate stories being told. Skip the architect stuff and just read the chapters from H.H. Holmes perspective and it's a really quick read but it IS definitely worth it! 🤍

Any time Bailey tells the backstory and a friend/family member mysteriously dies with no witnesses, but its counted as an accident, I can't help but think its their 1st victim (just no evidence and people tend to not blame a kid)

I don't think you mentioned this but you might have - so apparently him not paying construction workers wasn't just to save money. He would hire them, refuse to pay them, fire them, and hire more people, giving them all different plans to work from. So none of the construction workers had a clear idea of the layout of the building, and no none of them were suspicious

You know, while the motives seem different, It really makes sense that Herman could be Jack the Ripper especially considering he went to med school and really loved the dissecting and all of that, and Jack was dissecting all those women and was thought to be someone who knew exactly what they were doing.
