There's several features on the former Bombardier CS 100/300's, now Airbus A200's: cabin lightning, atmospheric controls & Special Aircraft monitoring capabilities etc... Very Nicely Engineered...

Years ago, when I worked at Gulfstream, we were told that a GV series jet achieved over Mach 1 in a shallow dive during a certification flight, just like this Global 7500 has done! Possibly other manufacturers' aircraft have also achieved this feat as well! Bombardier can boast that their Global 7500 test bed is the first to go supersonic, but this may very well not be the case at all! Bombardier also shouldn't claim just yet that their new Global 8000 can fly further than any other purpose-built business jet (8000nm); Gulfstream's upcoming G800 will also fly at least 8000nm and probably more! And for that matter, Gulfstream's new G700 final range figures haven't been revealed yet, but you can bet the G700 will also fly further than its posted 7500nm preliminary figures! We will also see just how far the upcoming Dassault Falcon 10X can fly too! ...the maximum range game continues!

@@naughtyUphillboy I got that, but it depends on how you look at it sir! The manufacturers' cabin dimensions are as follows: G800 cabin length 46.8 feet, height 6.3 feet, width 8.2 feet. Global 8000 cabin length 54.4 feet, height 6.2 feet, width 8.0 feet. G700 cabin length 56.9 feet, height 6.3 feet, width 8.2 feet. Falcon 10X cabin length 53.9 feet, height 6.6 feet, width 9.0 feet. Needless to say, any one of these very large purpose built business jets with their large cabins can fly you comfortably anywhere on Earth! When you are talking large cabin dimensions of this magnitude that these four new jets feature, it is basically nonsense to say one of them is "smaller" ! But for what its worth to you, the G800's cabin, while not longer than the Global 8000, is both TALLER in height and WIDER in width than the Global!! The new Falcon will be even taller and wider still than its competitors (but not longer than the Global 8000 or the G700 cabins)!! Refer back to the above factual dimensions for yourself and draw your own conclusions!

@@stevenward4162 GULFSTREAM IS CUNNING, they won't tell that they include cockpit in cabin dimension. DASSAULT is most honest in that, clearly stating measurements are from cockpit divider. Also, falcon is 9 ft 1 In wide. Thanks for reply/discussion & Regards.

Steven, most aircraft in a dive will go supersonic, if they are certified around the mach 0.9 area. Bombardier did this to be able to certify the aircraft at a higher max speed Mach 0.94 & it was also confirmed by a instrumentated chase aircraft. The range is the goal of the certification effort. Gulfstream has their own goals for certification, but they have not announced it. So at present the Bombardier is the fastest (Mach 0.94) & the longest range (8000nm) aircraft Because that is their certification goals for this latest model.

@@colinwhyte3402 Thanks Colin! I will go along with Bombardier's announcement that the new Global 8000 will be the fastest, eclipsing the Citation 10+ maximum mach speed (.935 Mmo)! However, as far as flying the longest range at 8000nm Bombardier announced during EBACE 2022 in Geneva - will be equaled by Gulfstream's new G800, which was announced seven months ago on October 7, 2021 - making Gulfstream the first OEM to announce an 8000nm purpose-built business jet! And for what its worth, I have noticed in the past that a Global 7500 flew over 8200nm between Melbourne & Detroit! A Gulfstream G650ER also flew over 8100nm between Singapore & Tucson as well! So, the 8000nm range (still-air, straight line great circle distance, cruising at .85 mach with 8 passengers, as quoted by these OEM's) is theoretical , but can be exceeded in some instances with good tail winds & ATC routings - even for some sub--8000nm jets, like the Global 7500 & G650ER! As I said earlier, the final range figures for all of these upcoming new business jets G700, G800, Global 8000, Falcon 10X, etc.)will be revealed during or after their certifications have been completed! I wouldn't be surprised to see Bombardier announce a further range increase for the Global 8000 in the future after it is certified! I guess someone else will eventually announce .95 Mach speeds and 9000nm ranges in the future! Well, we can all fasten our seat belts and enjoy the ride!!

This would be a perfect plane to make into an AWACS &/or electronic warfare suite... SAAB uses a Bombardier business jet for its "Global Eye"...

Why would they discontinue the 7500? The 8000 is almost the same thing except they shortened the fuselage. So they lost weight and gained range but lost cabin area. The 7500 will still be consideered their flagship.

I'm waiting for the big companies to crack on and just make a 100 mil plane and give the ultra wealthy customers 18500 km range and the bed and shower. Just make it a little bigger and more powerful. That's a plane that can do Melbourne to London.

I think that would cost more than 100million because the confort factor and not just talking about a bed and shower but more like big enough to have a confortable body stretch session 🤣 and a good walk, plus accommodation for double the staff because is more than a 10 hour flight.

NetJets and other *"time share"* (fractional ownership) airline businesses in the USA possibly Europe and Japan. Very competitive segment given General Dynamics' Gulfstream, Textron's Cessna, i think $ba Boeing bought Embraer plus HondaJet now even and there is an mfg in Minnesota (Cirrus?) so at the moment in the USA actual a #glut similar to the 1980s but of course vastly superior product now #autoclave #NASA

They make a big deal out of this, but the 8000 is nothing more than a shortened Global 7500. Lost weight, gained range but lost cabin size.

You are mistaken. It is the exact same aircraft. Same cabin very few changes and nothing to the structure.

Mark, just a quick one. The Global 8000, is the same size as the Global 7500. What has been done, is there are tweaks with the engine power settings to give better fuel burn, & fuel efficiency, which helps with the speed & range. More fuel is able to be carried & used to help with the range. The lower cabin pressure has been achieved by beefing up the presure lines to lower cabin pressure. In short this is more of an upgrade, just like the Global 7000 to Global 7500.

If you mean new era, as in a new plane that flies at less than HALF the airspeed of the Concorde, then yes, it's a new era. It's a new era in the same way that NASA admits it's in a new era of manned travel to the moon - but ONLY if they can overcome the radiation levels that the unmanned Orion mission recorded. After more than 45 years, a new plane is only half as fast as the Concorde. Why is Bombardier patting themselves on the back for this paltry achievement? We should expect the same fanfare when NASA actually sends men to the moon, 50 years after they first claimed to have accomplished the feat.
