Also it does require some skill and athleticism. The jumps these girls do, while holding a stick between their legs, are insane! People, please check out videos from hobby horsing championships. It's really impressive when you actually look at it beyond your initial amusement.

I think it's way less cringe than relying on an animal (who'll be shot if they get injured) to do all the hard work and calling yourself an athlete. Girly can jump over those fences herself all day, love it for her.
@scar1002
@scar1002 2 ай бұрын
@crazyratlady3115 that is slightly dramatic 😂 horses don't get shot unless they literally cannot live with the injury ( certain leg breaks etc) because it would literally not be able to survive the injury. Also owners can choose to put the horse to sleep like one would a dog, but often it takes too long to get the amount of medication required to take a horse out, and the horse would be in insane amounts of excruciating pain simply prolonging it's death. (Also, excluding racing because hobby horsing often includes areas which are more similar to showjumping and dressage) there are very few horses that are actually shot as a result of competing. This comment makes it sound like people shoot animals worth thousands of dollars for having a torn ligament 😂 Horse riding does require insane amounts of athleticism and skill, and it definitely should not be a competition between which one requires more skill/strength. Obviously hobby horse people would probably win in a running race against a horse rider, but I highly doubt they would have any ability to take a horse around a 1.60m course without a good amount of training and dedication. Your comment is doing to equestrianism what everyone else is doing to the hobby horse people, so it's literally no better.

You know, this hobby horsing thing makes me so nostalgic. It was a huge thing in Finland already in 2006, and 11 year old me was a part of it. We made our own hobby horses, made websites for them and attended through internet matchshows and such. I made a lot of good friends back then. I love how the hobby is still alive and well ♥️

Yes, agree, shes just a kid! Cant help but feel compassion for her, and certainly I know i could think of WAY worst things she could be into, i mean just thinking about what i was doing when her age, ugh, yeah- definitely not that... Of course when i see this type of content, as an outside observer, one thing that might feel somewhat contrary to me is trying to understanding the type of parents of a child like this has to have… its like: in one breath they are encouraging an old fashioned hobby, that i might argue initially looks to appeal to a younger, maybe more sheltered type of demographic and then on the other the parents are allowing unfettered internet posting and interacting with strangers from the general public. Im sorry but doesn’t seem congruent to me, maybe I’m just uneducated about this hobby and making some broad assumptions/ generalizations? Idk? I think i would need to have more info to understand this whole situation from a sociological stand point, yet, i don’t actually agree with the amount of information and access we already have as the public viewing, basically from outside into a small window, like peepers. Like huh thats the part I’m taking issue with here, if that were my kid, the window and the blinds would be closed, but again i just don’t think im able to fully understand, and maybe im not supposed to?

Honestly, the amount of hate and bullying that is directed towards hobby horsing is insane. The primary people who partake in it is minors, especially horse girls that for whichever reason cannot have their own horse but still wish to have one. Hobbyhorses are a great way for those kids to have a horse that they can do whatever with to a very very low cost, anything from riding out with friends to competing which is usually similar to that of dance/gymnastics or hurdling, it's a great way to have kids be active and moving. There is also an incredible amount of artistic people within the community that make hobbyhorses or equipment for them. It's such a lovely community that gets such a painful amount of unjustified haterade.

People making fun of her SOCKS shows you how hard they’re reaching to find a real reason to be cruel. There is no real reason, they just want a justification to bully. And sure, when you post things online it opens you up to criticism, but most of the comments I’ve seen about her are NOT criticism. Because there’s no real criticism to be made.

Just let people injoy things, even if you (people bullying this girl) don't understand it or think it's just weird it's not for you to understand and thats OK. I was bullied alot all through school and told I was weird because I liked drawing and reading. To hhg be yourself for yourself and if others think it's cringe that's a them problem. Sad people will always try to bring down people that are independently happy because there self-worth is based on others perseption of them rather then there own happiness in being themselves. My one peice of advice to everyone including my younger self is "live as your 100% authentic self" iv been living by that for many years now and I am truly happy because of it.

I can only imagine the ignorance brought forward by this content. Whhoof, heavy, im just imagining in my head and although i havent read the comments i have a pretty good idea of what the majority of turds on the internet had to say, so feeling compassion for this poor thing, theres a part of me that feels just pity, thinking of basically still a child absorbing the unfettered wrath of trolls and bullies , and then theres another part of me that says, no honey, don’t post that, and well she will learn,. But if im being real im thinking, no probably not, shell get hurt and feel shame embarrassment etc etc and the whole thing will just damage her self esteem and self image, so she probably wont take the learning experience in a way that teaches. Its not like the lesson learned by touching a hot stove unfortunately, you wont do that again, so it leaves me just wondering about the parents, and who raised her think itd be a good idea to post that publicly to the world. Sorry but parents can grasp the concept of internet permanency, children cannot, in theory parents can understand that opinions are like assholes, and that you cant please everyone and that you should derive any form of self worth from that toxic place called social media, but kids, no, their parents apparently think its ok for them to learn this shit the hard way… idk I disagree and would never allow unsupervised internet access to anyone under 16, but thats just me as a person who believes kids are missing out on a great many things when they are glued to their devices when it becomes their babysitter and their fix, but what do i know….

I feel like the parents are going to show up to the next school board meeting to have you fired as their child's art teacher... 🤷🏼‍♂️

I disagree with some of what you said. Because I know if i was doing that at even aged 12, I'd be made fun of for the rest of my life by my peers. I do think it's wrong for adults ridiculing her because she's young, but she's also two years away from being 18. And highschool/teenagers are brutal to each other as they are. I hate how people nowadays are infantalising teenagers and group them with literal kids when they're closer to being out of school. At 16, they can start learning how to drive and do other "adultish" stuff. The only time I will ever make the comparison of teens being "children" is if they just turned 15 or they are teenagers under 18 being approached by adults (which I'm heavily against for obvious reasons). That "hobby" I feel is something I could get away with doing publicly in kindergarten/pre-school. Even ten year olds wouldn't try to do this stuff in public because they're afraid of ridicule. So I don't understand how someone of her age would do this in public especially in the presence of social media and constant camcording?? It's fine to do this, but you have to realise how silly you'd look if you're doing this out in public if your of a double digit age.

I’ve been laughing at (but not hating on) the video because I genuinely thought it was satirical. I had no idea people did this as a real sport, I’ve only ever seen hobby horses being used by small children.

This is on the same level as the paper dragon thing. I can't stand the cringe of it, but the people doing it (kids) are having a great time and feel cool so just move on, people. Scroll on.

Check out videos from championships. It's actually really impressive to see the kind of jumps these girls do.

Unfortunately, once she posted it publicly, other people’s reactions are out of anyone’s control.

This girl was cringey as fuck but we ALL were at that age. If anything I ever did at 16 was online I would never be able to live it down. Thank god I never recorded myself.

Everyone was cringe when they were 16, and it SUCKED whenever ya got made fun of for being cringe! Why not break that cycle instead of perpetuating it? I guess it'd involve seeing teens and other cringy people as, y'know, being people, instead of pieces of entertainment.
