Teddy James I heard he was years ago. I’ve always heard about homosexual undertones in this movie. I’m not sure if it was because everyone on the movie knew he was gay or just a coincidence Jesse went to a gay club and tried to sleep in his friend’s room.

Some people give Elm Street 2 some shit for going outside the franchise’s story guidelines about Freddy only existing in the dream world and not in reality but I really liked this one too! I definitely thought this was the scariest version of Freddy as far as design out of all the movies! Between Freddy’s amber colored eyes, cheek bones, and witch like nose, he was definitely the scariest design and most sinister looking!

He was creepy in the first movie, but something was more dark about him in the 2nd. He kept the same energy in part 3 that he had in part one, but he was more talkative. Anything after, he was full blown Hollywood lol.

The Make up of Yagher was very superior than the first one. He's new design of Freddy is one of the scariest and also Robert's voice was deeper and more produced in part 2. It was a more solid character.

Yeah, that's why I like Part 2 so much. It's such a dark movie, both tonally and literally. As far as the B.S. that movie went off the lore of Freddy. There was no lore or real rules really established like there is now. It was the first sequel and they tried something different. Hats off for that! Wes Craven didn't like it, but it is what it is and "A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2" is a great Horror film. It's scary and honestly it was one of the last times Freddy was truly scary, save "New Nightmare". Even still, I think Part 2 was a lot scarier than "New Nightmare".

Fun fact In Chile this was the first movie shown in theaters and was called simply nightmare.it was very succsessful Then a couple years later the original came to theathers and was called nightmare 2. that was the first nightmare I saw but didnt know was the original becuase movie pósters said nightmare 2 them came part three. The story made sense going from 1 to 3 with the Nancy Thompson character. IT was a few years later that I found out that what I saw as nightmare 2 in theater was actually the original nightmare not part 2.

I have long thought that Nightmare 2 was the route they should’ve pursued in further sequels: Totally separate stories, with Freddy as the only recurring character, exploring different personal issues and vices in the underside of American suburban life.

i understand what hes saying as far as part 2 paving the way for the rest of the movies. as far as money wise, part 3 made more money, but thats because after part 2, there became more of a following of the movie, in turn, more people going to see the movie.

Nightmare 2 wasn't considered "gay" until years later. I like it more as a non-gay film. The only questionable part is the leather bar scene. The rest of it isn't even remotely gay.

I know what you mean. I saw this movie as a kid, and then as a grown man, and Ive never felt that there was homosexual subtexts in it. Yea that s&m scene with the teacher, was weird... But the movie as a whole, I saw it as a Nightmare movie, that was being seen from a boy's point of view. Of course nowadays, the powers-that-be have to try to turn everything into "homosexual" propaganda-- or imply it....
@boomstickcritique902 Жыл бұрын
@@Richard_John_Dick_Grayson You can if you choose to just see it as a Nightmare movie and forget about the gay stuff however it is truly filled with gay subtext. You cant not see the movie as somewhat gay because Mark Patton the actor no matter what he says about playing whats on the page is obviously gay and no matter what movie I saw him in I would obviously be able to tell he's gay. I watched Nightmare 2 with a chick who knew nothing of the film behind-the-scenes stuff and after the character spoke just a few times she said hey I think this guy is gay lol.
@nycot1074 жыл бұрын
everyone always asks the question "was Robert Englund scary", to just about every other actor in the movies. The thing is, though, he wasn't scary to them because they knew what he was like in real life, and they knew it was all make-believe. As the audience, however, we don't see Robert Englund, we see Freddy Krueger, so it's harder for us to grasp the concept that there is a decent and kind person behind such an evil character. Of coarse, most evil villains are played by the loveliest people.

7-10-20 Out of all the original Nightmare movies, Freddy's Revenge is probably my favorite. Its the only Nightmare movie, where the main character is a boy, and the story is being seen from a boy's point of view. In this one Freddy is also darker, because its probably the only movie out of the first six, where hes the most serious in personality (not that many jokes, if any at all). The party scene is the perfect example, Freddy was just out there killing anyone...no jokes or puns-- just angry vengeance. In the later movies Freddy became more funny, and less scary. The later movies felt more like black comedies or satires, when compared to the first two movies, specifically when compared with Freddy's Revenge.

Love seeing them both but Mark has a habit of dramatizing his experience with the film and talking crap about Wes and a few others. For 1- Get over it! Crap unfortunately happens and the bad experience happened decades ago. For 2- Wes ignored the second film because he disliked the fact they ignored all the rules he had set for Freddy which is he’s in the dream world, not running around killing kids at a BBQ. For 3- I myself thought the second film was awesome and although Mark may think they exclude part 2, they really do not. Freddy attempts to possess a couple of others within the franchise. One notably is in Freddy vs Jason. 4- just stop whining and making drama whereas there shouldn’t be and be thankful to answer fan questions.

I agree about Craven why would he like part 2 it totally changes everything about his creation from the first film. Another thing though is that Mark is obviously gay he blames the script for making him seem gay on screen but truthfully anyone watching the movie can tell that Mark is gay just from how he talks in his voice.
