That is the real deal...and to think it runs on the street! Many thanks to the owner for allowing us to get a close and personal look at a beautiful piece of automotive history that we might never see otherwise. The 500 horses pushing what is likely well enough under 2000 lbs is what we can call way more than adequate. ...It seemed like she was idling at about 200 rpm when it was first fired up, but then just ripping when opened up a bit. I love the chiropractor analogy - and can understand where there is a bit of truth to that. Thanks to Lou too for this awesomeness.

The biggest problem here is that it was never designed to go this slow, you can see the driver struggling to stop it stalling but when he gives it even just a small amount of throttle you can hear that power begging to be let loose, what a machine and what a view over the bonnet, great racing car and great video, thumbs up

Thank you! The Lola T70 has been a favorite since i first saw pictures in Road & Track as a kid. One of the best looking racing sports cars ever. And great sound, as we're hearing so well with you. Thanks so much for taking us on a ride. Like another commenter, i remember slot car models, that ran on larger than home scale tracks. While i wistfully/enviously watched other boys play with them, I didn't have money enough. Just some car mags. Am glad Lola T70's are doing so well in Historic Vintage racing now. Thanks again. ...The engine sound's still echoes in my head. Thanks too for showing parts other videoers might've cut, like getting in and out and your co-host needing to drive in socks. His shoes too wide for the pedals?

It was. Long hours on the road travelling to circuits, long hours preparing cars for practice and again for the race. Away from home for weeks at a time. Despite this, great times were had and the unsocial side of the job paled into insignificance.

Wow great while we watch as two old geezer's fumble around looking for the Simpson safety belts they don't need to wear as they go for a spin around town at idle speed but what the hell right ...This car is a brite yellow 4 wheel bottle of Viagra/Geritol ....Myself and a very good friend used to fly around in a White with blue stripe 70 trans Am with a fully prepped bored and balanced 461 inch 455 with ram race clutch a specially prepared M22 mated to a 12 Bolt Locker rear end with 2:73 ratio Koni Coil overs all four corners full 10 point race cage with mini lite's race wheel's weld in frame connectors and all the proper support's with 32 gallon fuel cell and a nearly 4 inch thick specially made aluminum radiator with electric fans . This was the most radically prepped car I've ever driven on the street . Not including 8 second drag cars street driven of course .. There can be no greater feeling then blasting down some State Highway in the we hours of the AM with a full moon and Marcal competition head lights ..The Trans Am was good for 90+ in first and getting out of it at 6500 RPM in 4th I wasn't really looking at the speedO in 4th gear the corners were closing in so fast . But I've never driven anything that took hold of the road like that we were using BFG competition radials that had cut down tread ..Road cars rock like nothing else..

Sounds like riding in a beater pickup truck with loose door hinges and no interior paneling or floor mat and the solid lifters just make it sound like a truck engine low on oil pressure with collapsed hydraulic lifters.
