Thank you for your extremely interesting podcast. It's nice that British people take such pride in their gardens, and I noticed this when I visited the UK, and each house made the road and its neighbours more attractive. In my home land (Kurdistan), we normally have large front gardens. Because we employ high walls , our gardens are private. We usually plant grape vines and use their leaves to make kurdish traditional food (yaprakh or dolma), while mulberry trees are also common in our gardens. People in Kurdistan typically share garden items with their neighbours. Kurdish people love to plant flowers as well, and even though they use certain flowers for tea, they add the flowers to the tea when it is about to boil, and it produces such lovely tea.

To end as the chat was unfortunately interrupted, I was saying that I totally agree with you and it is lame to compare people; each of you, girls, has their own qualities and yours are absolutely awesome Anna! Then, yes, you are not blonde ... but you are no less magnificent and dazzling and a remarkable tutor! 💗 Let me tell you. And how I regret that when live, there are always bad-mouthed and bad-intentioned people (I am ashamed for these) to say stupid things instead of having a kind and grateful word for the time, the dedication, the talent you gracefully offer to us! Because people like you Anna are amongst the most valuable people on earth; and you know why? ... because you share your knowledge and with such a great talent and sweetness! And that is priceless, so, Thank you Anna! 🌹 You are the very best! Delicacy, softness, gentleness, nuance, intelligence but also humour, a hint of extraversion and madness; you are all that I love!

I absolutely loved it Anna! A real pleasure for the ears. Your voice is so agreeable, sweet, peaceful, animated, expressive, clear, accurate! ... For the subject and its treatment, I adored. It was engrossing and exhaustive and I liked so much your way of speaking about animals and green and your personal stories and anecdotes. You did a fantastic job! and I get the whole thing and every single word as it was so clear. I enjoyed a delightful moment listening to you. Congratulations Anna. I found a lot of similitudes whith our gardens here in Northern France! Very similar indeed in many aspects. But I'll probably be back later to comment more otherwise it's gonna be too long! ;-) Thank you so much. Bisous Anna! 😍🌹 Do you plan to make podcasts with collabs (discussions, exchanges ...)? I hope you will do one with my Sabe as I love you both so much! :-)

I hope you can review the transcript. It says "bear our skin to the sun" but I think it should be "bare our skin to the sun".
@fabrice9252
@fabrice9252 Жыл бұрын
No, no Neo, there is no mistake at all ! Here the verb 'bear' has nothing to see with the animal 🐻and neither with 'bare' meaning 'naked' In fact here, 'bear' is a verb which is a synonym of 'bring' or 'carry'; so what Anna says is that, in England, people like to bear their skin to the sun meaning they like to bring, to carry their skin to the sun ! Bear is a tricky verb and has multiple meanings; it can also mean: take (obligation, responsability...) assume, shoulder, accept... Or also: withstand, stand, endure, support Ex: I can't bear the too hot weather. (= I can't stand it) Support, help, back, assist or: include, have, behave, comprise, contain Ex: The boxes shall bear a serial number or bear a reference. (comprise/contain) Carry, give, provide, offer... Ex: Nor can a good tree bear bad fruit So, as you can see, an interesting verb with quite a few meanings that are good to know ;-) Hope that helps, greetings!

@@fabrice9252 however, are you sure? I asked to a native speaker, and he told me that it should be "bare".
@fabrice9252
@fabrice9252 Жыл бұрын
@@Neo-Reloaded I checked out Neo and it seems that you are right; seemingly 'bare' can also be used as a verb meaning: strip, undress, denude, expose. So yeah it could also work well. So I would say that both are possible because 'bear' in the sense of 'bring' or 'carry' works too. Good job Neo! but let's wait Anna's answer to confirm or clear it up for us! ;-)

That is a lovely podcast, Anna. Long live this series!!! You know, just by chance this past week I found out this other channel that, while very unlike yours, I did find good anyhow because of some of its videos. I would like to recommend you take a look. (kzfaq.infovideos) It is from a Scottish young woman that fashions it more like a vlog, and her posts are infrequent and have more of a personal life undertone. But she posted some things about her life and taught some things about Scotland that was an absolute treat to watch. (plus she speaks English with a Scottish accent (kind of), so it is natural, just like yours is natural as well) The reason I am recommending these videos is because they are of a kind that opens our eyes, as non native speakers, about how vast and wealthy UK's English is. Her videos featured a lot of dialect information, and you made an extensive series about accents. (which I hope it continues!!!) They, the videos, left me thinking that if you start a new series, about UK dialects, then that would be not only smashing, but also a subject almost like endless. Plus, as an advantage, because conversations about dialects don't really focus on phonetics, there is this possibility of having conversations with natives of the UK's regions via Zoom for example, as what would be most important for us ESL folks here is vocabulary, not pronunciation. Please, if it is within reach for you, do it. We already love you. If something like that comes about one day, we are going to love you even more! All the love.
