Yes, Anna, you won my heart with this podcast!!! I made a quite similar experience, 24 years ago...and I met him five years later, like you met 'him', too...😅 I discovered then, that I lost heart on(correct?) him. My life went a good way: now I have a romantic intalian husband and three lovely sons (22, 15,13 years old) and I set my heart on the job being a good wife and mom for them😊 I hope, I used the vocabulary in the correct way...best whishes, Claudia
@EnglishLikeANative
@EnglishLikeANative 8 ай бұрын
Hi Claudia, 'to lose heart' is more about faith than love. So if I say "Don't lose heart" I mean don't lose faith, don't give up. Or I might say, I followed my dreams but eventually lost heart when I didn't find success. Therefore your sentence "I lost heart on him" doesn't work here. I would recommend replacing it with "I realised then that I no longer cared for him"

My dear Anna, Thank you for this lovely, personal and very touching sharing. I love the way you are: sincere, down to earth, natural and unvarnished. After your story, the main feeling I'm left with is one of incomprehension my lovely: How could anyone have let someone like you down? .... and leave you with a broken heart. I have to say it is totally, totally beyond me! Then, to show empathy for this tormentor of your heart seems difficult: we can only perhaps try to put forward some explanation: He distances himself from you for quite a long time. The cruising scene, the parties, a certain 'dream, adventure, glitter side' ... I don't think he's an ascetic; maybe he's a womanizer at heart, but yet here, I'm guessing without knowing him... Anyway, he meets another girl and 'falls for her'. No doubt she's a pretty girl too, if not more than this, and we can assume what happens next. The fact that he didn't write to you right away could mean that he's very "annoyed" and doesn't know what he's going to say to you and how. Something tells me he's not someone who totally doesn't care. Why ? Because he ends up writing to you and, in fact, he's not lying to you, he's telling you the truth. At least he's honest about it. But who's to say he doesn't give a damn about it, and if all he really cares about isn't enjoying himself and the hedonism and carpe diem of the moment? A this point, I can only conjecture. For me, one thing is certain, Anna, even if, knowing you a bit, it's beyond me: he didn't really love you, because if he did, he would have remained faithful to you through thick and thin in the first place; and even had he made 'a mistake', he would have called you, hid the truth from you, and come back to you with a guilty conscience, no doubt, but he would have come back to you because true, sincere love is stronger than anything. In the end, I think that even though you've necessarily suffered a lot, I imagine, you certainly don't have to regret this person Anna, really! What's more, you have the immense luck of having finally found the right and very lucky person, and of having started the family of your dreams! Thank you Anna for sharing your feelings with so much love, sincerity and the elegance that is so characteristic of you. A lovely podcast that I once again enjoyed and learned from. I am a bit sad that we couldn't see you on that one , but maybe you prefered because of the subject a bit sensitive to you :-) I send you a thousand kisses of love, affection and gratitude. Bisous bisous, Love you 😘🌹❤❤❤ This time, my luv', I hope I get a like or why not a reply... 🤗T.Y.! I would add that I like the snapshot and paradoxically, even if it is a bit sad and that I don't like to see you like that, I still find it beautiful :-)

Have you heard Anna about the tragic earthquake in Morocco 🇲🇦 it broke my heart! can you make a video lesson about the vocabulary or a podcast of earthquakes. Thank you so much for this heartbreaking podcast 💔 On Friday, September 8th, 2023, a devastating earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale struck the southern regions of Morocco, particularly impacting impoverished and mountainous areas near Marrakesh and Taroudante. This catastrophic event has resulted in widespread destruction, with the death toll tragically exceeding 2000 victims, and the number of wounded individuals reaching approximately 1500, including 700 who are in critical condition. These figures continue to climb as more victims are discovered beneath the rubble. In the aftermath of this disaster, survivors find themselves in dire circumstances, spending their nights exposed to the elements without access to shelter, food, or clean water. In this challenging time, Morocco urgently requires increased humanitarian assistance, not only from neighboring countries but also from international organizations such as Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) and other entities committed to providing crucial aid to those affected by this devastating earthquake.

Condolences of course to all the people and families affected by this terrible and sad tragedy. However, I find it incomprehensible and more than regrettable that Morocco has not yet asked for international help. What on earth are they waiting for? When lives can, no doubt, still be saved! France is ready (from the outset) to intervene as soon as the Moroccan government gives us the green light to send specialised teams, including marine fire-fighters and dog handlers specialised in searching for survivors. Hurry up please, the clock is ticking!! Love and support to the Moroccan People. ❤🌹🌍☮🕊

@@fabrice9252 thank you Fabrice for your concern and your support 👍 i gyess some countries like Spain Emirates & Qatar … have already responded to Morocco’s call for international assistance, but i don’t know why France hasn’t been given the green light yet 😮 Let’s ask our teacher Anna maybe she’s into politics better than me 😀

@@hasanzahidi5875 I might have the answer to that interrogation, Hasan. The King of Morocco is seemingly angry with France. Now, it seems to me that some issues and humanitarian questions and emergencies should transcend Politics my friend and I hope the Moroccan Gvt will have a change of heart and will accept the support from France ... 🙏 🕊 You know, Macron is not France, far from it and certainly NOT my France at the very least (!!), just as the King of Morocco is not Morocco. Notwithstanding political issues, France remains a great friend of the Moroccan People . :-)
