This was all about just getting out for fresh air. Nothing more, nothing less!
The Devil's Point - or Bod an Deamhain (Penis of the Demon) to give its original Gaelic name - is a bare pyramid of rock which guards the entrance to the Lairig Ghru from the south. Walkhighlands

Great to see some of these views again. My first Scottish hills trip in Aug 1978 was a couple of nights in the Corrour Bothy, did my 1st Munro (Ben Macdui), not recommended from here but we were young. A few years later (actually 41 years) compleated the Munros on the hill opposite your tent door. Would never stay in the Corrour Bothy after a strange experience during our stay. Footsteps outside approaching, came upto the door, latch about to be opened. I shouted no room, (only joking). No one enetered, we got up and checked outside, no sign of anyone or anything? Four of us heard the footsteps. Years later a book was published 'The Black Cloud: Scottish Mountain Misadventures 1928-1966'. One of the stories is about a tradgedy involving 2 who stayed in the Bothy.

Lovely images and edit from a very special place. You started at Linn of Dee, I think, and the wonderful old trees, hiding plantations, must be in the Glen Lui. Haven't done this area at all, so very inspirational, many thanks.

Wonderful start to my Friday with memories of a great walk in Summer 2019 from Glenmore, linking the 2 Lairigs via Glen Derry. Our 1st night we pitched our tent in exactly the same spot outside Corrour. Stunning footage from the Devils Point. I just love the Cairngorms. Take care guys x

Good for you enduring the wind and rain. It was the same when I first went this way to CB a few years ago with my son. It rained on us all night and he was in his bivy bag. At 7am I heard him whimper, “Dad, can we go home I’m wet!” We therefore beat a hasty retreat to the Linn of Dee and the cafe! I’ve been back a few times since to bag the Munros in the area. Never seen it in sun though!🤣 If you’d been up there today you’d have been in the snow. First snow of the winter fell last night in the Cairngorms last night. I was up over near Bynack More today. Keep the fab videos coming.👏

Another lovely video. Bod an Deamhain of course doesn't mean The Devil's Point but something else beginning with P and really sounds more euphonious untranslated! On quite another note, roughly how much longer would you say your journeys take with the filming and staged shots than if you just did them straight?

Thanks Pete. Actually it doesn’t take a huge amount of extra time filming it. If this ever becomes more about the filming than the enjoyment of the walking we’ll be binning the cameras. We’re actually getting quite good at seeing the shots we won’t and getting them done, almost with breaking stride lol 😂

Beautiful! I walked the Lairig Ghru from Coylumbridge to Linn of Dee in August and the midgies were pretty bad at times. Were they still around at the Corrour Bothy? In August they were pretty bad, but thankfully we chose to camp on the saddle below the Devil's Point and were pretty much midge free. And had a visit from the Reindeer which as a bonus!
