A Week of Groceries | Family of 13 Haul

Welcome to my weekly grocery haul for my family of 13! Another week, another grocery shop to feed this growing tribe. Included in today's grocery haul are some ingredients for making sausage rolls for my son's 2nd birthday. The original recipe can be found on my channel:

Prices, including Australian total, as well as United States equivalent are included below. Tips to save on your grocery shop:
- Purchase produce that is in season - it tends to be much cheaper than imported items (and fresher!)
- Include a 'fend for yourself' night (or two!). This helps to ensure that leftovers are used up, gives one a night off cooking a meal, and allows everyone to have something simple that they really enjoy.
- Use up leftovers. I often turn pasta dishes and Mexican night leftovers into pasta and rice bakes. Add a bit of extra cheese and you have a whole new meal!
- Purchase items that are on sale. In my part of the world, there are always half-price sales. I take this to mean that that's the actual value of the item. If I don't get something half-price, I tend to purchase the home brand equivalent, if available.
- Make a meal plan and shopping list
- Shop online. It's easier to keep track of how much you're spending
- Shop less often. If shopping fortnightly or monthly allows for free delivery and the ability to purchase in bulk, consider shopping less often than weekly.
Today I have purchased items for the following meal plan:
Homemade sausage rolls and salad
Marinated chicken drumsticks and vegetables
'Fend for Yourself'
Lamb Curry
Chicken soup with garlic Turkish bread
Vegetarian pasta
Leftover vegetarian pasta made into bake
The total price for this grocery haul was:
Woolworths: $525.19AU ($346.05US)
Coles: $260.83AU ($171.86US)
Total: $786.02AU ($517.91US)

Charlie is such a handsome little boy. Happy Birthday ! This week we are having for dinner Homemade Chicken Snitzels with Potato Salad Stir thru Pasta with tomato Bacon and Cheese with Garlic bread Pork Katzu Curry with rice and Naan bread Slow Cooker Beef stew with crusty bread Beef Stroganoff with potato gems Slow Cooker Shredded Beef for Tacos and Burrito Bowls And lastly its a freezer raid or fend for yourself night where I tend to have Fish in the air fryer and salad. Great video, I really like that you do your shopping hauls quicky, some others take forever and go about how they are going to use a loaf of bread or a block of butter (very annoying for me). But there are times (especially non-US videos I do need more detail) aka Cheezels and Strawberry Freddos. I guess non-US items in general. Although common sense kicks in for most, but on occasion I need to google the items to figure out the specifics. Regardless I was just venting, because I just love your grocery hauls for your large family and I am so glad you are back (long time subscriber). Thank you! ☺️ Yes, grocery prices have increased substantially in the last few years. Five years ago, I was spending about half what I do now, and we have always eaten very well. Sure, a couple more kids and growing teens….but that certainly wouldn’t naturally double my grocery bill. All of my children eat a lot, no matter their age tbh! All of Australia, along with the rest of the world, has been affected by the recent cost of living increase (which we are calling a crisis in this country). Hence, I try and work the sales and shop around. A few products have dropped in price in the last few weeks…but I haven’t yet seen any major shift 🤞
