Don't be discouraged by the age of a motorcycle, end of November I will be doing my A2 and moving from my Yamaha ybr 125 to my 1991 Honda CB-1 Japanese Version (400cc inline 4). The bike is basically a naked style detuned Honda cbr400rr (same engine) built in the time when Honda where putting everything into there bikes like you said, from what I've learnt people have said the bike is very reliable and over the summer I have rebuilt it and restricted it for an A2 and so far I haven't had any trouble sourcing parts. I'm sure you'll find the bike right for you and what ever it is it will be awesome :)

Nice video once again! I love the way Mt-07 looks like, but it's not for me! Naked bikes are beautiful, but I'm more into more sporty lookin' ones. I was looking at the Kawasaki you mentioned as well, but just don't know! Don't even know which bike I should get, there's not many I like apart from a few 300cc ones, but I'd prefer to get something bigger than 300.. eh, why is life so hard? lol
@EvolutionMotovlogs
@EvolutionMotovlogs 7 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The MT-07 Looks aggressive, I prefer it over the 125 aesthetics too. Since moving from sprotsbike to the naked style motorbike I've been attached to them since. Just as fun as a sportsbike, they don't have as many fairings (easier of maintenace) and more agile (no clip ons). The Z800 looks nice but not really ecstatic about the restricted model :(. Life is not hard, motorbike decisions are though haha!
@CallMeRuby
@CallMeRuby 7 жыл бұрын
eh, I just don't think naked bikes are..me, you know? I like that sportsbikes have more fairings, I like the whole "connected" look, especially that the front wheel looks like it's a part of the bike instead of it just being there (naked/upright bikes usually), if that makes sense to you. What about the Kawasaki Ninja 650? (I know you mentioned you want a brand new bike tho)
@EvolutionMotovlogs
@EvolutionMotovlogs 7 жыл бұрын
I get you, they are different and not as 'connected' as you say. Since this comment, I've just discovered the Honda CBR 500RR (2016). It looks like they've re-designed it and wow does it look good. It's got 160 rear section and a 120 on the front (not too bad but bigger the better I guess). I'll look in to it a little more but it puts out 35kw (A2 Compliant) and is reasonably priced.

Would you consider a Suzuki GSX650F? as it is an A2 complaint bike, i am looking to get that as its a sports tourer. features: 1. sporty looking but upright seating position. 2. inline 4 engine so if you put a nice exhaust it will sound amazing. 3. very quick bike 0-60 3.4 seconds and it handles good too. 4. great for touring as it had a screen so wind protection.

An old sporty 400 is a *big* risk imo. A friend of mine got a 1990 CBR400RR in great condition, a month or so down the line things started going down hill with literally one problem after another. Spare parts are more or less non-existent and so he's being forced to sell it. I'll be doing my A2 in a few weeks and once I pass I'd like to buy a fully faired 2005~ Suzuki SV650S

Also, if you have a CBT then do an A1 License and your CBT Runs out, do you have to renew the CBT or can you ride around without L Plates on the A1 License?

A1 License essentially replaces the CBT. Also, the A1 does not expire (NO L Plates).

Yep, it's the exact same air filter and process for the YZF-R125. You have to remove a lot of fairings and the fuel tank to access it though. Few bolts in the airbox and just swap over :).

Interesting question, I've never rode one to say! I liked the concept behind the MT07 as it's feels and looks like a 'bigger bike' but can be restricted and then expanded in the future. Saves for buying two bikes in the long run!

I'm big fan of Supermoto style, like yamaha wr125/450 ktm smc690r and husky 701, but I feel like I want something more, e.g. yamaha r3 super sport style so I don't know what to chose. But mt 0-7 is good choice, did u see a Ducati Monster 821 is look awesome, or hypermotard 1100 yes they can be restricted.

If you are riding on a CBT you will need to display L plates on both the front and rear of your motorbike. The A1, A2 & Full license do not have these requirements and you wouldn't be classed as a learner.

you just gotta do a CBT and be 17+, it took about 2-3 hours. not really any theory, you basically just sit in a room and listen to the instructor and answer a few questions, takes about 15 minutes

Does the A1 mean you can take your L plates of your 125 and enable you to carry passengers and go on the motorway? And can you do it when your 17
@T.K.9
@T.K.9 7 жыл бұрын
+James If you are 17, and got the full A1 Licence on an appropriate motorbike for the full A1 licence (up to 11kW engine power as an example = KTM Duke 125, Grom, Kawasaki Z125, MT-125, R-125 etc.). You can ride a 125cc bike without the L-Plates with a Pillion. Provided that your motorbike have a pillion seat and that the pillion wears a helmet and other gear. And ye you can go on the motorway. Only L-plated 125cc bikes are not allowed to use the motorway. Alternatively if your 17, you can just get a provisional licence, pass your CBT and get the certificate which last for 2 years, a 125cc bike and ride it with L-Plates for 2 years. You can literally ride it anywhere apart from the Motorway. Then choose to get the Full A2 instead after two years. But if your happy with a 125cc or lower bike just for commuting (personally its not that bad in and around the city) its not a bad idea too.

I would have replied but @ero0toki1 beat me to it! With a pretty comprehensive response :). Long story short, if you've got an A1 license, you can ride a 125cc with no L plates or learner restrictions. This means you'll have access to motorways and carry pillions.

I do, I've got a Fiesta! I recently fitted coilovers and they're causing me troubles so switching to the bike whilst I sort out the car...

Though you had a car so was a bit confused as to why the bike was your daily again... I dont have many performance options for my car since its a Diesel 😂

@@MrEminemrules92 What do you mean, diesels are easier to tune than petrols. they have stronger components to begin with so they can take on more boost on stock internals easily. Good example is the 1.9tdi, you throw a new clutch, bigger injectors and a hybrid turbo, remap it and easy 170hp and 400nm of torque from 90hp 200nm with relatively minimum cost and work. But if you dont wanna mess with stuff, a stage 1 remap often does wonders. Extra 50hp and almost a 100nm of torque and better fuel economy on top of that. Gotta be careful with the stock clutch tough. :P

EvolutionMotovlogs np man :D haha Kinda planning for the MT-07 too haha So far really liking the MT Line from Yamaha. Perfect riding position in my opinion, good agile handling and very unique looks right from the 125 looks till the MT-10. when I get some cash flow in the future perhaps for now sticking with what I have xD.

Oh, that'd make more sense! The CBR 600 is not A2 Compliant unfortunately. My options would be the 500 CBR which I've looked at recently :).
