Hey Micheal. I’ve had my copperband for about 6 weeks from Abyss. Great fish but it won’t eat anything but pods and fresh clams which I freeze then soak in garlic and vitamins. He loves it! I’ve tried black worms, mysis and mastick but he won’t touch it. He eats about 1/2 a clam a day which I feed by hand in the shell so he can get it without the others bothering him. Good luck mate!

I’ve had a copperband in my system for about 3 years now. As somebody else has said, started off on Easyreef Masstick as wouldn’t touch anything else. Is now one of the best feeders in the tank eating most frozen foods and masstick daily. It’s partly down to making sure they get a chance to eat the food as most other fish as food snatchers. Also eats the smaller live feeder shrimp which are about 5 for £1.

I've had one for nearly a year now, I feed it on masstick with vialis pellets mixed in, loves it.

Get some Masstick and stick it on the glass. Also reef frenzy.

Hello there from Florida, US. Beautiful ft ish you have there. I had one I bought a bit bigger than yours about 6 mo ago. It did very well grazing on Live rock. It ate everything I put in the tank. It lived for 4 months and suddenly went belly up. Don't know what happened to it. I might try again soon. I know this wasn't the most inspiring story but they are a bit hard to keep. I hope you have him a long time! Beautiful tank by the way.

Beautiful fish, I had to make a copper band feeder because mine started to waste away. I took a piece of half inch PVC and capped it on both ends. Then I drilled holes all around around the pipe so the could fit his mouth in. no need to glue the end caps as you will be removing them to fill it with frozen food of your choice. Good luck!

Pelagic said it - Masstick and I would open up a clam (they always say that). But it's early and he looks healthy - it's a nice size (not too big so it can learn). I think that is all positive. But try the small clams / pippies. Do you have a maxima? Hasn't touched that I hope. I would rather a Copperband that doesn't touch aptasia and leaves clams and corals alone - but I think most of them are pretty good citizens ;) I ordered some of that new Franks F-Aptasia that is supposedly the bomb - if I get it posted (it charged me 3 times) I may be the first in Europe to have it - but I may also end up with 3 big bottles of the stuff LOL

have u tried feeding it some mussels I catch butterflies and that's the only thing they will eat for a while

Ohhh he is beautiful, but I just should culture tons of coepods if I would get one, shouldn't I ?. From what I've heard culturing pods is easier said than done. Any suggest? Thank you and congrats for such a beautiful proyect.
