I was honored to give the eulogy at my brother-in-law's funeral. It was a very powerful experience.

Hey girl! I've just found your channel and am enjoying your videos immensely. I am currently going to school to be a funeral director, and then I will do an internship afterwards. I'm still quite new to the field, and we were given a tour of a well-respected funeral home nearby. It was a wonderful experience, and I felt a lot of peace as we went from room to room... even in the crematory lol. I'm pretty set on having this as a career, but there is one thing that's been troubling me. I don't have a great back. I have a little bit of osteoarthritis, which is unusual for someone as young as me, but it's also not the end of the world. If I do strength training, exercise, and take care of myself, it's not a problem. But in general, I shouldn't be doing certain exercises or very heavy lifting. When I asked my professor after the tour if this would be a problem, he said, "Well, what if you go on a death call and you have to get a body from upstairs and carry it down into the front room?" I told him that I knew there would be some strenuous work, but I assumed in today's more advanced age that there would be contraptions that would make it easier for us to transport bodies. He said that was true, but you still have to do heavy lifting. I'm kind of confused, because I've been told that a lot more women have been entering this field, which I really admire and has encouraged me. But... And I'm not trying to offend or be stereotypical here... In general, women are not as equipped to lift like that. Or at least that's the impression I got from my professor. I am not a very tall female, and although I am strong, I do have to be conscious of my back. Does this mean I now can't pursue this degree? What is your experience, as far as this goes? Is my professor correct? Sorry for the long message. I'm very interested in what you have to say. :-)

I’ve never been asked to give a eulogy. Maybe they are afraid of what I might say? LOL.

I’ve given last rites as a law enforcement officer a few times, but never a eulogy. I’m probably too hard to find at funeral time (by design), unless I happened to be an escort.
