You know what's really annoying? Grammar cops who can't get grammar straight... Misspell is made of two words "Miss" and "Spell", meaning that you "Miss" the shot at "Spelling" (English is full of gun based metaphors, expressions, phrases and sayings) When someone says "Mispel" while being a grammar cop, since it's not a real word, I just tell them that Ms. Pel is not currently home, and neither is Mister Pel... I mean, English isn't even my mother language and I can make puns than the average anglophone wouldn't get at first glance..., what's your excuse? Also, she's speaking, not writing, I think you wanted to say "Mispronounce" which is the oral equivalent of "Misspelling"... can we get invaded by higher quality bots? See? Mispronounce only has one "S" because it's a mix of "Miss" and "Pronounce", whereas Misspell has two "S" because it's the mix of "Miss" and "Spell", as both words start with "S", unlike with "Miss" and "Pronounce"...
