This match was a great showcase for the sport. It had everything, cat and mouse strategic play down the backhand wall, dives, Marwan calling his own doubles, and blood!

Great win for makin again playing his heart out as usual, great game by both players, that shot by shorbagy was a bit wild to say the least, it’s shocking that there’s not enough audience watching these great players,and always cheering Egyptian players whilst hardly any applause for the opposition.

What's the deal there then...you can't bleed on court ...wasn't self inflicted though....that changes things .? Normally have to cover and stop bleeding or game over

What's the story with the blood rule here? Players get stopped and given match against them when a grazed knee/knuckle seeps through bandages, Makin had it pouring out of him. Glad that he was allowed to push through and win, but was it due to the blood being contributed? (if a slight understatement of a full swing to the face)

I can't say that interference at the end was natural unintended. He could easily had a stroke if he stopped the ball. Not good behavior from Shorbagy

Disagree. Marwan's had to move his body quickly to get it on the right side of the ball to play it straight and away from Makin. Makin's anticipated it very early and is moving quickly at the same time as Shorbagy is watching the ball to play his own shot. There's no way Marwan is going to see that kind of movement and judge it to be sufficient to give him the stroke all in the time he has to deal with an awkward ball himself. Surely, we give the player the benefit of the doubt on such a quickfire decision when we know how awful the refs can be at critical points? I think your judgement is just not in good faith.
