I use a dongle and my sands extreme ssd on my MacBook Pro but this will totally eliminate my need for two devices. Thanks for sharing

It's incredibly convenient and small . . . especially considering you can change out the SSD chips at your will very easily.

Think my hub and external NVMe drive enclosure were better value overall, but can see the attraction of this product, just not at the price point they settled on (speaking as a UK buyer)

I can understand that. I'm an odd bird in that I don't focus too much on price if the item is something that I want and that I can use to make life easier . . . provided the cost isn't ludicrous.

What SSD are you using in your 5 in 1 Acasis? I commented on another post here, and since have discovered that my Mac nor my Windows computer will detect it. It is a Western Digital SSD 250 GB, and just don’t think it is a match for this device.

I can’t play videos stored on SSD it just spins with no video playing, do I need to connect 100 watt PD cable, tried using 65 watt PD but didn’t work either.

I couldn’t imagine you would since an SSD doesn’t have a power jack . . . At least not the ones I use. Are you sure it isn’t an HDD? If it is then you will need power.

hi i bought acasis 4.0 and start using with my lap top.. But there are problem in using with my M1 ipad pro.İ can take file fromm acasis but can not send (or write) files to it. What should İ do ?

I honestly don't know. It's likely more to do with Apple than with Acasis. Once I got my Macbook Pro I stopped using the iPad for anything other than content consumption. It was just too annoying having to carry so much with me.

If you plug a lightning cable from an iPad and plug the USB A end into the USB 3.1 port on the Acasis hub and plug a USB C cable into the type C port on the Acasis and the other USB C end into a Thunderbolt port on a Macbook . . . the iPad is recognized by the Macbook.

I put the chip in the Acasis then plugged it into my iMac and used the Disk Utility to format it.

Hey there, relatively new to Mac and now have the new IPad Pro and Acasis. I have just installed a 250GB drive in the Acasis. Will have to try this disc utility on my Mac Mini. Currently it does not recognize the drive. When using the disc utility to format it, is there any special steps required?

@@macheted01 howdy, i wasn't able to format my nvme on the Ipad, so i hooked it up with my pc how reconized it and i was able to format it to be reconizable ios and pc, woorking fine ;)

Yeah, a lot of people are holding out for a thunderbolt version. I’ve found this one to be perfectly fine for what I want to do.

and the audio output on the acasis is terrible, dont know what kind og dac it is but it's very bad

I honestly don't think I've ever even tried it. I'll take a listen but I don't doubt it won't be all that good.

Have it since a couple weeks - works fine with my iPad pro, but AUDIO OUT SOUNDS HORRIBLE - no bass at all, harsh, useless on that side - had to buy the official Apple Adapter 🤬

Agreed . . . the audio is shit. I end up just plugging into the laptop itself.

Sad the SDCARD maxes out at 104Mb/s… one third the speed of my cards

Yeah, certainly not the top of the speedometer, but, considering I'm using it while I'm on the road, it's more than enough for me.
