1-POCKET - USA’s CLIFF JOYNER and Filipino SANTOS SAMBAJON played this match at the 2000 World One-Pocket Championships in Portland, Maine. Joyner, a well-established professional, won the 1999 U.S. Open 1-Pocket title as well as the Texas Express 1-Pocket title. Sambajon, at 40 years old, was just making a name for himself and he proved it here.
Howard Vickery and Ronnie Wiseman handled the booth duties.

thanks pat for this delicious match. I have purchased many one pocket videos over the years. When i had a money match upcoming, i played the videos as fast speed just to get the flow of how to play the shots in my thought. I fondly remember steve cook, with his powder blue socks and his killer banking.

Santos was no joke! Seen him run 7 9ball racks race to 8 for $2000 against Ginky! Smallest guy in the room with a Goliath sized break! Broke the last rack played safe and finished the set!

Thanks for this. Suggestion: Just set the camera on a full-table shot and leave it alone. Real fans of one-pocket don't need closeup shots of the players, etc. It's annoying as a spectator who just wants to figure out "what would I do on this shot" and we can't do that if you moving to other camera shots. Thanks.

Love watching cliff play. I was fortunate to sweat a lot of cliffs money matches with Scott Frost way back when cliff used to spot Scott as he was coming on to be that stone champ that Scott is now. He gave him 2 balls back around 2000 or so then one ball and eventually even

Good match. Santos played way too slow. I was able to pick out 90 plus percentage of his shots within 10-15 seconds. I was hoping that after the time he took he'd come up with more. Good match none the less.

In the fifth rack, I think Santos missed out not cutting at the nine, but evidently he saw problems with it, such that if he missed it would leave Joyner positions that I didn't see. I didn't see how he could miss that nine with reverse to leave himself position. I guess he saw the odds differently.

@1:21 they are talking about Efren's Z kick against Earl in 1995 and say that was 7 years ago but the title of this says it was in 2000. If this was 7 years after 1995 that would make it 2002, so something is amiss.

Yeah I noticed that too but they're wrong about the year. The Reyes shot was from 1994 sands regency vs Strickland. Good match best finish ever. First Accu-Stats VHS I ever bought.

●● Question(s): In (most) tournaments, how would the following be handled? A player thinks about using the "bridge cue" for their shot, so they place it on the table. They decide to NOT use the "bridge cue", so they shoot a shot, making their intended ball (leaving the "bridge cue" on the table). NO ball runs into the "bridge cue". Would it be considered a foul, thereby giving the other player the next shot? Likewise, if a "chalk cube" was on the table surface when the shot was taken (and nothing touched the chalk cube), would it be a foul?

Those are 5 inch pockets wow that’s hard to miss on! I don’t like playing one pocket on any table with pockets bigger than 4.25. To me all one pocket should be between 4 and 4.25 pockets. No bigger or smaller

Santos played 9 ball a few racks and lost. Then he played 1 hole a few games and won. Then halfway through the last rack he suddenly starts playing 9 ball again and he loses the match. I don't understand why he went back to what didn't work when what he was doing was already working great. Makes no sense.

I think they did a great job also Boss ... Very friendly and upbeat - You can't have Grady ... Mr. I ... Cecil ... Danny D. Ect ... All the time . What they lacked in truly gritty 100 % accurate knowledge they made up with in personality and politeness.
